Old Knee is killing me when I hang.. I have a EN Hammock with under and top quilts from speer + big tarp. I cant be the only one with this problem-o.. Any suggestions U kneebees :-) Maybe a horizontal style sleeping Hammock and not so much Banana shape? Placing a roll under my legs maybe?

Used to have the same problem in the same hammock. The solution? Easy; instead of laying in line with the hammock and hyperextending your knees, try laying off center. That is to say, lay with your head and shoulders to the right and feet to the left or vice-versa. Pretty much the classical asym position, which allows a much flatter lay. Another solution would be a lay flat hammock such as the JRB bridge hammock or the Warbonnet Blackbird. Hope you find what works for you and you get good and comfy.
If the problem is lock-knee, try filling a stuff sack with clothes and putting it under your knees.
Also, you can make up a hammock so that there is a slight ridge running at an angle across the hammock. That ridge can prevent lock-knee when you sleep at an angle.

As Hooch said, your pain is probably caused by slightly hyperextending your knee...the weight of your leg is being supported only by your heel and butt so the knees takes a lot of pressure. Need to find a way to keep it slightly bent. I usually have a stuffsack with clothes in the hammock...it's under my knees when I'm on my back or between my knees when I'm on my side.
I have that problem with my HH, and something under the knees does the trick. Don't have the problem in my Blackbird.

Don't forget you can take you water bladder and fill it with cold stream water and wrap it around the knee to reduce swelling. Use a bandana to hold in place.

I had calf cramps in my HH Expedition. it was due to the tension on my feet laying in the hammock. Got the Blackbird and I have had zero issues due to the glorious foot box design that takes all the stress off my feet.

I have been investigating MYOG.
I saw an article explaining the ridgeline and hammock length ratio needs to be about .9 to be sized properly, and all of it based on your height.
I thought I bookmarked it.
Don't know what's wrong with your knee, but my hammock sleeping comfort is enhanced by hanging the foot end of the hammock a bit higher than the head end, by sleeping on my side or back diagonally across the hammock, and sometimes by propping up the knee on top with a rolled-up jacket. I have a Hennessey UltraLite Backpacker model, by the way.
