Hey:
Well, this is what all I'm looking for ASAP, and somethings I'm worried about getting here in time, so I may be double buying.
I feel a need for either a liquid stove or a windpro....something better than my Pocket Rocket in the cold.
A good size cooking titanium pot, just needs to be bigger than my MSR Titan Kettle 0.85 liters.
I need probably two more waterproof stuff sacks.
An ursack.
I might need a bag, I'm waiting on my outfitter to see if we can find an exact replacement of my Mont Bell 0 Degree bag, but if not ONE of those.
A closed cell sleeping pad or anything I don't have to blow up and a chair kit.
Another coat, preferably a Mont-Bell Flatiron in Small or Medium.
Okay, reason I need all of this is my buddy burnt down my tent this past weekend when we were out on a last hike before I left, so it seems that I need allot still to make my leave date of the 30th of January.
Let me know anything you have.
Thanks,
-Kevin

Brutal. How did it happen, or would you rather not talk about it? :p

Well, the destruction of virtually ALL my gear was actually not my fault at all, but did involve my friend and I indulging in a little whiskey.
The short story is:
We had set camp up (tent up, bags rolled out, gear inside, pretty much ready to zip-up and sleep), but we hadn't eaten. I go down to the creek to go fetch some water and he goes and gets the stove ready...inside the vestibule. More or less he got frustrated with it, sputtering off, from the cold and went to go relieve himself. When he got up the stove was still going and he must of knocked it over i.e. catching the whole tent on fire with all my gear in it. So, the few things I did not have inside the tent I still have and my stove.
So now I'm doubting my trip because of replacement cost of gear and need to try and find it on the cheap. That's about the whole story without nearly the amount of expletives I'd like to use.
BTW- He's fine and I didn't kill him.
srestrepo- Honestly man, I'd rather not trade my kettle away. I'm really just looking for something to add to it like the Snowpeak 1400 Ti.
Thanks and let the ridicule at my horrible luck begin....now.

oh yeah... HAHAHAAA, i had to man.
Have a 3/4 length Therm-a-rest guidelite self inflating, let me know.
Walmart will have the waterproof sacks and a blue pad for you. for about $12... If you are in a rush, they sell a coleman cannister stove that goes about 5 degrees past a pocket rocket temp wise... They also have Coleman anodized pots. A 4 pack with one that is the same size as a snowpeak 900. The cannisters will fit in it no problem. Good luck to you!!

Hey:
Well, I now have my bag a 15 degree, but it'll work and my pots. For the stove I'm keeping my pocket rocket and just going to hope that I can keep my canister temp warm enough.
Thanks for the help everyone and I'm still looking for the rest of it.

hey magger, if its any help, there was another thread that made mention of the fact that if you put one of those chemical hand warmers under your canister and let it heat up the canister that that would make a night and day difference. now i dont know if thats too much heat or not but if you give it a try let us know how it works out for you.

Hey:
srestrepo: That's a really good idea actually man. Only thing is do I want to buy/carry 180 of them on my thru-hike, hopefully it won't be that cold though. Something I'll definately keep in mind as a back-up/emergency option...
Thanks dude,
-Kevin

thats the thing man, the only time i would see you using that is in teh beginning of your thru if you're going nobo. it gets pretty cold down south according to what i've read but then of course it heats up and then of course gets cold again in the north depending on when abouts you get up here... plus the canisters aren't that bad if you stuff them in a jacket or something... that's always worked for me until i realized i had a white gas MSR simmerlite...
