I am considering this for hiking, I dont have much money but i would like to buy this for 4 season, I dont plan on being out in the winter much but it would be nice to have this if i needed it. I was planing on just using the sleeping bags for summer hiking, The whole thing weighs 7lbs(i emailed them to find out) I know thats ALOT of weight but i cant afford to buy multiple items some of which i wount use much. I can just take out the bags for summer. What are your guys opinions? I am also open to suggestions on a good 4 season sleeping bag if it is not to expensive.

Link for the one im looking at http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=ZWB-144

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS POC.

Go hiking and ask others what they are using and the pros / cons of their gear.:-?

I gave you some ideas over on your other threads to help you get started and save money. I'll help you save $130+Tax right now.

Stop shopping this low end crap and go to Campmor you can get a decent RETURNABLE 3S sleeping bag Example - Kelty Synth 20d Lightyear Bag (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___43130) or the Marmot Trestles 30D bag (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___46564) both under 3lbs for $70 each.

In down bags for a bit more weight (3lbs 5 oz) you can get a Campmor Zero degree Down Mummy (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___40067) for $149. This will carry you through a lot of colder periods on the trail and the weight isn't so bad that you can carry it into summer before swapping out for a warmer bag (or just lay it over you like a comforter)..

For $179 you can get The North Face Kilo 30 degree bag (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___47872) that weighs a smidge over 2 lbs.

I would select any of these bags over anything CDD can offer. Your down bags can easily last over 20 years if you take care of them. over the years, The synths will slowly start to function less well than the temps they are advertised down to - this is normal as synth insulation loses it's loft.
Hope this helps. We have all been in the situation of starting out and trying to find one single item to fit every need - those items tend not to fit any need really well. you are better off starting slowly and buy something for a specific purpose and build up from there - you won't end up with a lot of junk, and if you buy branded products and take care of them, you can usually sell them for decent $$$ when you are ready to upgrade.

If it says military and you don't know for a fact that it is any good then it is probably junk.
