I'm using a bottom-of-the-line Olympus Stylus Epic. No zoom. Cost about $80 a few years ago. The big difference is that this year I used slide film, rather than print, and scanned the slides into a computer using a really high quality slide scanner. I'm very happy with how the photos turned out. The GDT crosses some amazing land and I'm glad I didn't mangle it quite as much as the PCT.
