I have to travel to Nashville from Michigan in a couple of weeks and would like to know if thre is a place we could day hike perhaps near bowling green or Elizabethtown as an example.
Maybe check out the trails around Mammoth Cave.
The Sheltowee Trace runs through the Daniel Boone National Forest in the eastern part of the state for 280 miles... check out the area around Morehead (hyw 32 and 64).

This is a great area but not near I-65 which is the route from Louisville to Nashville.
Besides Mammoth Cave, try Bernheim (http://www.bernheim.org/trails.html) which is just south of Elizabethtown, KY
Pictured Rock, let some of the Nashville peeps know when you will be here. It is as excuse to have a get together/hike for us.
