Hiking between NOC and Fontana Dam this weekend with a few other hikers. Does anyone have an up to date water report? Thanks

shuttled some SB hikers today from Wayah. They said basically they'd had no issues with water.

I did it a few weeks ago and water was a major issue, but probably not so much now since it has rained a few times lately.

Reliable sources are at Sassafrass Gap Shelter, the last shelter south of Fontana and at the top of the last peak before descending to Fontana. I would suspect that water could be gotten now at Locust Cove Gap (bottom of northside of Cheoah) and at Brown Fork Shelter. However, those were dry or nearly dry when I was there.

I stayed at Locust Gap about 2 weeks back, water was a puddle but useable. Water may be better now.

Just got back from a little out and back hike from Fontana Dam to Derrick Knob and all the springs were running fine.
