I've got an old external frame made by a (now defunct) company called Highland Adventures. One of the webbings came unsewed from another recently and I'm looking for a hip belt to replace it with.

Here's some photos of the hip belt: http://picasaweb.google.com/brian.beaudet/Backpack

I can't find anything on the 'net except suggestions to buy a used external frame and strip the parts from it.

I may be able to get something from Kelty but I wanted to check out my other options first.

Does anybody out there have any idea where I can purchase replacement hip belts? If not, anybody selling there external frame pack get in touch with me. If you send me a picture of your pack's hip belt, that would help.

Thanks,

Beaudetious

I've had the same problem for a few years now. Try to find an outfitter that still has some in stock...that was my only recourse.

How does the hipbelt attach to the pack?
I've got a couple Granite Gear belts laying around that I don't use.
You're in Marshall? I live in Hot Springs, you'd be welcome to come take a look.

Looks like Granite Gear doesn't make external frame packs. I may be wrong or they don't show them on their website.

Here's a link to some photos of the hip belt I'm trying to replace:

They used to keep a big box of these in the back of their showroom. I think they were about $12 at the time. I had a couple extra, but sold them on Ebay about 5 years or go....

I ended up making my own. I was able to get everything I needed at jo-ann frabics. If you have a sewing machine it's pretty easy and you can customize it.

Sadly, I got one of their last few of these. No more.

The Kelty belts, you mentioned, might be your best option.

I ordered two of them, two years ago, and the price was reasonable. :sun
