Dust off your gear (get off the computer ) and get out on the trail!
:welcome
Just thought I would post this in the Event/Get together section and invite YOU to some hikes that the Allentown Hiking Club schedules. I have been a member (and lurker) on this site since May of last year, but have not posted much. I thought this may be beneficial to others so...
Here is the website with all scheduled hikes:

I joined Allentown Hiking Club to help me condition for my 2012 Thru. As you will see, most of the Hikes are Day Hikes. Everyone and Anyone is welcome to attend all AHC hikes unless otherwise noted. Tje Allentown Hiking Club Members that I have interacted with have proven friendly and informative so far.
There are two Backpacking/Overnights that I will be leading....
The first is Saturday April 2 till Sunday April 3. Spring hike to get everyone out on the trail for the season. It is an easy 4 mile hike in from Rt 309 Summit to the Allentown Hiking Shelter. We will spend the night there and then Hike 4 miles back out on Sunday Morning. This is a leisurely hike and can include all ages and conditioning levels. It will give you a good 'run through' of your gear and a chance to interact with others that have similar interests. Rain or Shine. Total Hike Miles 8.2
The second hike is Saturday June 25 till Sunday June 26. This Summer hike is going to be more challenging. It will be from Reservoir Rd Parking area in Hamburg PA (just below Windsor Furnace Shelter) 17 miles to the Allentown Hiking Shelter. We will stop by the Beautiful Pulpit Rock and the Pinnacle! We will overnight at the Shelter then Hike out Sunday 4 miles to the vehicles at Rt 309. Please see details at the above Allentown Hiking Club website. Due to start and finish point logistics, we will actually be meeting at Rt 309 Summit and leaving some vehicle there then going to the start point. Rain or Shine. Total Hike Miles 21.3
It would be great if some local members (or non local) of White Blaze could join us for these two backpacking hikes. I hope to see you at these and/or any other scheduled hikes. Feel free to contact me with questions.
