I'm heading out for a short trip in the Smokys in a few hours. Up to the AT via Goshen Prong to Double Springs. Then, along the AT, across Rocky Top and Thunderhead to Spence Field (hopefully to chat with my bear friend again). Then, down along some side trails and a camp near Elkmont. Forecast looks good, but it will be cold and snow is expected. I suppose this means I will be celebrating Thanksgiving alone at Spence, unless the bear shows up again to join me for big turkeydinner.
