Back in "92" when I did a thru, there was a place that sold a burger so big that the waitress/bar tender/owner would warn you about its size before you ordered one just for yourself. It also came with a HUGE pile of fries.
I wish to do another thru and have looked at 2010 handbook and see no mention of such a place. Does it still exist and do they still sell the "monster burger"?
BTW, I did order one of the burgers for myself, it was indeed one of the biggest I've seen, but I managed to polish it off along with the massive pile of fries.

That'd be the Port Clinton Hotel.
Haven't been there in about a year but, the size of the fries was very big last time I was in there (Oct 2009)

Helen is no longer living had a stroke about 1997. Several changes over the years. Has more of a dinning room than bar now. Burgers are now $8, dinners are $15 to $23 range. Still rent rooms to hikers.

Even a "small" fries is humongous!
I hiked like a madman to get to hotel in Port Clinton to get a room, do laundry and finally take a shower. Got there and the place was closed for the week for the 4th of July holiday. Had to go 70 more miles to Duncannon before I could get 'er done.
The Doyle has a pretty good burger too...
Oh, and The 3 C's in Port Clinton has a mighty good big breakfast.
I ate at the Port Clinton Hotel, and the portions were beyond huge. (and so were most of the people there for Sunday lunch). A "small" order of fries filled an entire plate.
