In Februrary, Franks for the Memories, a local favorite in Buena Vista, VA, announced that it was closing. However, great things come to those who wait, and on Thursday, April 28, it reopened, under new management. Located on Magnolia Avenue at the corner of 21st Street in the middle of downtown Buena Vista, Franks is open 6 days a week (Mon. - Sat.) and features live music on Friday and Saturday nights. A nice selection of cold beer is available on tap, and the menu features (as the name implies) terrific hot dogs as well as paninis, wraps, house-made pulled pork bbq, soups, sandwiches, salads and homemade desserts. They are very hiker-friendly and offer a great place to sit, have a bite to eat, take a load off, and watch the world go by.
