<img>Nope. When in advanced, I click on the smilies to the right and they appear in the edit box as broken image placeholders. When posted they disappear.<img><img><img><img><img><img><img><img><img>

Hmm, I don't know why yours are not working. I am on my way to work. I will play with this later and see if I can duplicate it more.

Could there be a setting on your browser concerning viewing annimated GIFs or whatever that is set to block these images and it is set wrong?
No, I can see them when others use them.

Can you press "reply to thread", then from the keyboard enter : and ) together with no space between, along with some text to meet the minimum message length requirement, press "preview post" and see a smiley? :)
<img> Seems it works in quick reply but not in advanced :(
It's the links to the smilies from the advanced reply box.
