Village Deli in Falls Village, CT -- Looks like this is less than a quarter mile offtrail, but almost a mile detour by the obvious roadwalks. Anyone know if there's a shortcut? I know there are some side trails that intersect in the area (River Trail, Mohawk Trail) but I haven't found maps in much detail. There's a powerline right-of-way that looks tempting on the satellite, but who knows?

While we're on the subject, is there anything of note in this town other than the deli?

Thanks!

There supposed to be a couple restaurants and a bakery but I'm not sure if there's a Deli in Falls Village. According to the Companion, one of the restaurants, Toymakers Cafe (open Thurs-Sun) supposed to have free tentsites.

Northbound, you could road walk into town, but you'll only save less than a half mile, and miss a river walk.

Thanks for the reply -- I'm looking at Google Maps & the deli is about half a mile south of town on U.S. 7. I totally overlooked the Toymaker, silly me I thought it was an actual toymaker, sounds great though! Hope the timing works out...

(Thus the limitations of planning via Google... maybe the deli on the map is really just a toy factory named "deli"...)
