Is there still a regular, informal gathering of hikers in the Asheville area? When and where?

TIA,
Mango

Mango, hope you get some replies from Asheville. If you are interested in a hike this winter in TN, let me know. Soon as this cold air pushes out, and the morning temps rise above 40 degrees, I'll be ready to get outside.

all the best,
Stumbler.

I just hiked 3 days around Erwin - I'll be back in 2 weeks - going to try to get from Spivey Gap to Hot Springs in 3 days - 58 miles or so if anyone is interested

I might take you up on that. Let me know when you nail down the dates. I've got to go to Brevard in the morning so our Davenport Gap to Hot Springs trip got cancelled but I am hiking Devil's Fork Gap to Allen Gap Fri/Sat by myself (wife has plans Saturday...)

Ok - sounds good , my birthday present from my wife is 4 days of hiking - it's January 14th (I'll be 45) so, I have Jan. 13-16th.

Its not a Wb group but the CMC always has hikes. They do a lot of bushwhacking hikes too. Good people! There used to be a group from Diamond Brand as well.

MangoTry the AT Clubs CarolinaMountainClub.org or Tehcc.org. TEHCC has an informal but very active group called the Friday Hikers that go out every Friday (usually first meeting in Kingsport)

Say hello to my old house when you get to Log Cabin Road and look left. Have a great hike!

Got an email recently about A.T. hiker gatherings resuming - at various locations around town. Guess you have to get the email to stay in the know. Anyway, next one is Jan 10 at the Lex. Ave Brewery.
