View Full Version : Troutdale, VA
I'm doing a section hike near Troutdale, VA in a couple of weeks. Are there any "you HAVE to eat here" resturants you would recommend for post hike meal?

there's only 1 store/restaurant in troutdale. better off driving to damascus to eat
Best not to be in a rush driving Troutdale to Damascus. It's a long, winding road....pretty though !!

the first time i was there i forgot about memorial day, so i couldn't get my mail, the old owners were really nice, told me to camp behind the store and go inside and eat "you can pay me tommorrow " he said
Check out Three lil pigs BBQ in neighboring Daleville, its some good eating and hiker friendly. The Mexican place across the street from the HOJO express isnt bad either.

My family and I really enjoyed eating at Jerry's Kitchen in Troutdale. He was super hospitable and even handed my daughter the key to his vehicle, so she could go pick up her parents at the trailhead. I'd recommend it, not to mention it's the only place in Troutdale to eat, so far as I know.

Had to stop here as my car overheated after a hike in the MT. Rogers area. Stopped in and they were a huge help; water for the car and a fantastic breakfast for me. The staff went out of their way to help me out.
