Yep. I am just converting over some of the old articles we had. The goal is to try and get something up an running that can be a more active document.

So,
I have some one-way section hikes to complete in Maine, and I am starting to think about shuttle service as an alternative to very long bike rides from car to trailheads.
Are the rates ($1.25/mile) typically for one way, while I am riding in the car (say from Abol Bridge to Monson)? Or is the per mile rate for all driving necessary to go pick me up and delivery me (so round trip plus)? I'm just trying to see if I can afford this.
Should I start looking into a float plane ride from Katahdin Air?

This information is old, it needs updating badly. Mr Shaw listed above passed away not too long ago.
So, if anyone out there wants to add a shuttle provider, please feel free to list it here, eventually I will get around to taking that info and updating the table. Right now there are a few things going on behind the scenes that make that low on my priority :D

The rate quoted is usually for the mileage clocked while you ride in the car, without charge for the other mileage. But you should ask first!
I hated to do this. But I just updated the shuttle listing for the site and removed Shaw's from the listing. On a good note though. The Pie Lady is still doing shuttles even though she no longer has the hostel and asked me to add her name to the shuttle listing.

Troll, where is the shuttle list? Think you could add a link to the "quick links" or in the "information" menu or add a spot on the tool bar?

The shuttle list is the first post in this thread. It is also listed in the articles section. As we speak right now I am working on it some more.
Oh sorry Troll, my bad. I thought you said you updated the shuttle list in it's entirety and it was on another page or something.
I just got done fixing the shuttle listing and moved it to make more viewable. Please post updates and changes in this thread please.

I have been on the ATC list for a few years and have tried several times to add myself to this list, but can't seem to figurre out how.
I live in Torrington, CT and am willing to shuttle from the MA/VT borader to Bear MT NY. I do not charge. I first like to barter a ride for a ride. If that fails then feed my car :). As most others I work. I work from Sept to June and hike from June to Sept so advance communication is highly recomended.

I would like to be added to the shuttle list, I tried to do it but it keeps taken me to another page that says, update, and around and around we go. If anyone could assist me I would be most happy. Thank you www.mainequestadventures.com (http://www.mainequestadventures.com)
