Has anyone been blessed by the oppeness of George and Maurie Ziggenfuss in Bland Va. They have been known to have great hospitality and stories. George I believe a thru hiker back a good many years ago. :welcome

I have been a guest at their home. Two of the most wonderful people on the planet.

I stayed with George and Murry Anne for 3 days on my 2000 hike. They are absolutely the best Trail Angels I encountered. I stopped by their place on my way back from the Gathering last Oct and they were preparing to move much closer to Wyethville (?) and further from the Trail. George has completed 1 thru, and many section miles. He was also the guy that was shot on the AT by a hunter a couple of years ago. They are truly wonderful people. Cedar Tree

I enjoyed some sodas that they left at the O'Lystery Community Picnic Area, and again at a bridge over Laurel Creek two days later. It was much appreciated in the heat of early May.

Yes george and Murry have moved out of Bland back into Wythe County where Murry is a Minister at a local church. Thank God that George has recovered from that hunting accident. :o :welcome

Yes. Enjoyed a cold drink at Laurel Creek in 2000 and caught a ride out of Bland the next day with George. It was a happy coincidence to be able to thank him personally.

We knew when we saw the AT decal in the back of that old beat up truck we were getting a ride. He made a u-turn to get us.
