My family name........my story.....1964 New York Worlds Fair, 7yrs old. We went into the 'Monaco' Pavillion, my dads friend was busting them about my dad owning the country, so when one of the girls that worked there started talking to me, I told her that my dad owned the country..........I remember her smile, but not her reply!:D

:) Must be nice to have such a prestigious sounding last name like- Monaco. That's an entire country as opposed to a tiny place in GA. Cute story..L :D

we havent had much snow on long island at all this year . a brief storm after the hurricane, then the one a few weeks ago which buried ct and sufflok county, but not much else. and were in the home stretch. we're at that time of year with the days getting longer, more sunlight and milder temps, even if we get hit, you know its gone within a day or two.

i think th kid won out over the rats. its funny usually im kinda conservative about people leaving jobs, careers families just to walk in the woods for 5 or 6 months, but the kid is the right age, and i kinda got the take that the trip itself wasnt the goal, although a challenge, rather i feel he senses the magnetic allure of consumerism is worth resisting.although i think he really wants to do the whole thing, i think the decisions hes already made have put him on a path he stay on for the rest of his life.

nah its worse than that, the car was for a friend of the owners brother in law, a camaro ss, so i did the deal at invoice. the car had an msrp of $44500 but the bank caps it at $41200, so we're 2 gs in the hole. even after holdback, finance credit were still down about $800 and the customer will never know he should have paid $50/month more.i just found out from the bank right before i left work, and the boss doesnt know it yet, but he will, so tomorrow ill get a talking to, and im sure its going to cost me. i cant undo it, but it also annoy me. i dont make mistakes. this one happened because he lives in ct and they calculate leases very differently than ny.my finance mgr called the bank for clarification, but the selling price was never capped correctly so we're out 2 grand.

in the end things all work out so i dont worry too much. youu just move on. im my bosses hero one day and the goat the next. monday a previous customer of mine was in for service, and the last i spoke to her, she was waiting on the 2014 impala, due in in april. i had actually called her sunday t give her an update as i hadnt spoken to her snce october2012,anyway she tells me she no longer has her impala, leased a chevy equinox from one of our competitors in november. i asked her why she didnt come to us and she said she gets mailings from them all the time, was in the area, went to check out an ad and they sold her.she said she came back to us for service because we are better, and assured me at the end of the equinox lease she would be back to me for her next car. the boss found out about it, and wasnt tooo happy we had lost a customer to another dealer, but i reminded him of how many ive taken from other dealers, but he was still pissed. turn the page , today it turns out she was also a "mystery shopper" hired by gm to critique her service visit, and she gave us high grades and particularly praised me. so iget an email from the boss this afternoon"outstanding job!"

i had the car capped at 44500 and it should have been 41200.some banks have caps, usually on unsupported leases, but other banks and supported leases dont.and when they do the msrps are usually well within the guidelines. so if you want to look at odds. maybe 1 out of 100 leases i work would the msrp exceed the limitbut when i happen to be the 1, who cares about odds and probabilities

ha ha ha - I guess this is a compliment - just had a tenant call me - I have a space for lease for lease and a coffee house wants to go in next to a restaurant that has a lease clause prohibiting other restaurants - I think that a coffee house is "not" a restaurant - what do you think? It's more complex than this but this is the skinny basically - - stuff I deal with every day - I own 10 commercial spaces including 2 bars and 3 restaurants, 2 retail spaces and 3 office type spaces - this is my livelihood (the reason that I can take off and hike for days on end).

Yeah, about 3-4 years ago, I had a fat-finger incident in the lab and ruined an $8k piece of equipment. Which would have been much more embarrassing except that a colleague fried a $24k device by connecting the power leads wrong, and another colleague dropped a $10k camera and broke it -- all at the same bench in the same week. Boss rolled eyes, we all shrugged and moved on because stuff happens.

Looked out the window earlier and saw the full moon lighting up the woods, so put on my snowshoes and went for a long walk. Sure glad a couple of people broke trial yesterday or earlier today and all I had to do was follow thier tracks. Tomorrow we get another 8 to 12" - it's starting to pile up out there!
