Well, I grabbed a 2011 Data Book to look at the mile markers so I guess it could be off a little. The road didn't move but you might have to hike another mile or so. We're headed up again this weekend. I can stop in at the campground station and check to see when the roads open to the interior portion, and get back with you. I'd hate for you to have to walk all the way to Winding Stair Gap if you'd rather be picked up at Albert. I like that mountain. I'd go there anytime, as long as the road is accessible.
Thanks TW. I would really like to make Winding Stair or Wallace but I have to be realistic also. Check on Deep Gap if you wouldn't mind.

Lamb shanks are $6 per pound, Veal Shanks (Osso Bucco) are around $13 per pound. Add the veal stock, wine, other stuff and you need to charge $17 for the lamb and around $24 for the veal. Our biggest expense is always labor which is around 35 to 40% of every dollar collected. Food cost is around 35%, expenses another 12% and fixed expenses is around 8%. Leaves about 8% profit before taxes. Restaurant averages are around 5% profit after taxes. 15 Years ago average was around 10 to 15%.

It is why most fail. Most are too small to get really good pricing contracts for the food like the chains can. It is also why even the chains are looking at dropping the full time employees to part time to cut the new health insurance costs. The competition determines the menu prices.

Things will get even worse if they raise the minimum wage, especially for fast food. And of course it will also mean less entry level jobs for teenagers and those trying to get back into the workforce.

No. I lost my pics of the falls due to hd crashes & mildew. It was part of my PCT hike. A "Blue Blaze" just about every hiker does. I hit on a rainy day which actually made it more enjoyable. The rest of the 6+ miles to the road has many more falls, though not as spectacular.

I am scanning an old pic of me in the SNP. I keep changing the size but the gallery is saying it is too big. And I can't get it on a post either. I tried another pic....same same.

Not a serious question. We dehydrate too. I asked my hiking partner if we were bringing dehydrated rib-eye. Being the serious type, he said, we can if you want. With me it is a safe thing to assume joke 1st and serious 2nd. I know yours is a quip too. :)

I wanted to ask my pie question somewhere else, but I am really trying to be a good contributor to Whiteblaze. Even my 3 minute rule has failed me lately. My March goal is to not be a problem for 'gator. I think I have tested just about every boundary on this site. The sad part is that is not been done on purpose.

Yeah, it's hard to tell if someone is snerious or not sometimes. A mainly serious person trying to be funny?.. Nah! I guess I get an A for effort sometimes.;o)

I think you are fine, just the way you are... I think gator would agree, if everyone was as "troublesome" as you, his job would be a walk in the park. I'm snerious!!! :D I think everyone fits in well! Thank goodness we aren't all alike and behave ourselves 24/7. That would be boring! :p

It won't kill you to walk the additional 1.5 miles to the Visitor Center.

Meet at the marina access road, easy to get to and close to the main road.

I hope so. This weather acting up has me concerned. Two more friends of mine (nails and dirt dog) started Tues. and made Hawk Mountain. Woke up Wed. with everything frozen hiked .5 to Hightower Gap and got back off for the day. Were told temp was 0 and wind was 60mph that morning. Were supposed to get back on today but I haven't heard anything yet. Slow starts due to the weather. That's what concerns me.

Stow it underneath. They only put it under the bus & take it out. Never out of sight & you have to move it yourself through any transfers.
