Hiking from Katahdin to Bangor...is this doable? I figure resupply at Millinocket and then take this path. Roan Mountain in June is the same scenario. We grunted up the steep back slope and crossed the parking lot, full of cars, crammed with tourists. One of them looked at us in a shocked way and offered us a ride back down. I said, "Thanks, but we got this far, we're out to be miserable the rest of the way". Darn aggravating trail magic toting trail angels, always trying to mess with my hike :D

i know we're looking to stop in damascus, turns out a couple i hiked with in maine fidjit and dot.com moved from texas, bought a house in damascus so we've got aplace to stay. another little serendipity. just emailed them last night to tell them i was headed out on the trail to section springer to damascus, they tell me they bought a house there!
it really does seem like this trip was meant to be.

2 priors in April, Gettysburg 13-16, fishing 28-31. While @ gettysburg i am going to get a day hike in near Pine Grove Furnice. That stretch from Rt.9Vt to Greylock I did thanksgiving. We'll get out!
