Tooth is feeling much better. :) Actually slept through the night without pain waking me up. Just taking Naproxen instead of Hyrocodone, now. I'm kinda torn between a "wait and see attitude" and going to oral surgeon and getting it taken care of (root canal, pulled or whatever). Dentist suggests going to oral surgeon and getting it taken care of. he may be right.

You haven't cured your problem, just mitigated the worst symptoms.
I once developed an abscessed tooth that went from level 2 to 10 on the pain scale within 48 hours. I was out of town at the time (vacation, no less) and had to find an emergency dental clinic. They did an emergency root canal but failed to prescribe adequate antibiotics. By the time we got home from FL, I was in pain at the dentist AGAIN, this time with a severe recurrent infection deep inside the gum. Hurt worse than the initial infection :(

Ha ha! I have never liked going to the dentist so it has to be hurting bad before I go. My momma used to take me to the dentist when I was a kid. The dentist would have to come out to the car and carry me in. My momma had it rough between myself and my brother.

Foot is doing well, I believe. I walk around almost with no limp, however I am wearing a big plastic foot thingy the surgeon gave me to wear. I see him 3/28 and he thinks I may return then to tennis shoes. He feels I will be ok to go in April (mid to late). The foot has congenital birth defects but never had a problem until this last year and it was that toe. So that little piggly went to market, ha, ha. While I have been off read some good books. Here is a fascinating book on our culture you might find interesting: Empire of Illusion: The end of literacy and the triumph of spectacle. This book is by Chris Hedges (winner of P Prize).

Regulation 3.2, sec. 4a. Cafe Poho-ing.
Article 1. Poho points are considered an open source resource available to all, much like Linux in ye olden days. 100 (one hundred) Poho points may be awarded from one PoHo to another once a day. A PoHo may not award himself additional PoHo points. That's too poho-ish, even for the cafe. Besides, it's tacky. ;) Violation of said regulation will result in banishment to alternate inane forum thread of cafe members' choice, where miscreant must remain until rehabilitation has been effected. Or supper time, whichever comes first.

X-ray wise, what have they done? The usual bite-wing x-rays are nice enough for surveillance monitoring, but you need to go to something bigger (Panarex, for example) in my opinion. It's fine to start with verbal symptoms, but you need to go looking if you were in the kind of pain it sounded like to me. And neither of those options necessarily compares with what people are able to do these days with the digital x-rays. Maybe a second opinion is in order? (Sorry - lots of dentists in my family, but I am the engineer, so take my advice with a grain of salt).

Panarex views of the head are totally useless where the cafe crowd is involved. Have you not been paying any attention? :p Cheaper and faster to shine your head lamp in one ear and see if a circle projects on the opposite wall :D

Deer Hunter, seriously, I do agree that you might want to seek a second opinion. The type of discomfort you described means something is wrong and it might be sinus infection, an early abcess, root dying, I don't know, but I would be hesitant to just let it go, especially knowing that you use tobacco. Get the xray. You want to make sure nothing else weird is going on with your jaw. Please.

My left toe of my left foot was amputated this last Feb 15. I see the Surgeon this March 28th to see if I can return to a regular shoe. Doc says I will be ok to start CDT this latter part of April. I was going to start April 20th, may wait until end of April to start. I DID want to get a head start, oh well. I'll be using those Keen shoes. They're good for my feet. Whats good for my feet is good for my mind. Cuz my mind can't stand anymore abuse than my feet as my feet talk to my mind when I'm walking. So when my feet get a hurtin' then my mind gets to doubtin' and then one thing leads to another and before you know it I am stopped for the day. So, moral of the story? Make sure you take real good care of your feet. Clean 'em each day, put good socks on 'em, rest 'em, feed 'em, and put shoes on 'em that are good from the start. The brand and type are different for each of us but the effort is worth it. Happy Paddys Day, God Bless All here!

That means you would be done with it. I would take that advice.

I have, not in awhile though.

The fire road going up Basin Creek from the access on Longbottom Rd. all the way up to the Parkway is great. Long, 7+mi. gradual uphill walk that is moderately sloped enough to be very enjoyable, yet still good training. Creek is lovely with a handful of easily waded crossings. There is a side trail which goes 3+miles up to a neat old still standing homeplace. That grade is a little more challenging in parts and is strictly out and back unless you bushwhack. Only been up to the cabin once. There are several good loops that could be put together for a great, varied, 3day trip. As a bonus there are some good exhibits at the top along the Parkway. Might be a good venue for you, TW, your husbands if available, and me to get some miles in this spring. Just thinkin out loud. Love to actually do it though. Close to you and 3 hrs drive each for me and TW.

The acting is good, it is just that he is made up to look like... well Abraham Lincoln.
FWIW the Tommie Lee Jones character looks even worse.
But the kid from the original Bad News Bears and Breaking Away (Jackie Earle Haley) looked the worst, but that is sort of natural for him.

On the other side of the coin Sally Field sure isn't the Flying Nun or Frog anymore either.
