I play a couple of games of suduko to try & keep my brain sharp.

I call that mental floss. I coined that phrase back in the early '80's. Not sure if I was the 1st. When I said it, I had never heard it before. I like word meanings. Like will power. I call it won't power.

Some guys might understand. Some gals might not. God knew what he was doing when he made a woman. We admire all of God's creation... a Hummingbird, a sunset, a mountain view, an Eagle catching a fish, on and on. All of these things and all of creation pale in comparison to the fairer sex. How can a man not look. Yes, I know a woman is far more than the vehicle in which she resides. If I know that person, I am very interested in getting to know that person better. I am sorry. You are... how can I say this politically correct... you are not a heterosexual if you don't take a peek or want to take a peek. Quite frankly, I admire and then move on.

Gout attack. Been over a year since I've had one. was hoping it would pass without getting bad but couldn't stand on it this am till meds kicked in.

I have stayed away from commenting on this one mostly because I have a knee problem too. I am trying to pretend the elephant is not in the room. Mine is from a motorcycle accident in 1980. I do well and can even run on it without issues... for the most part. Every so often it swells up. I do not know much about gout, so it is likely that what I do will not help. I take glucosamine with MSM, CoQ10, fish oil, vitamin E, and turmeric. These all help with joints and circulation. I take a couple other supplements, but my knee is the primary reason I take any. I take no meds unless I absolutely have to. Having said all this, I trust you know far more about your condition than I do. Hope it is a short lived episode.

With age as you get older comes wisdom and consider five crucial aspects of wise reasoning: willingness to seek opportunities to resolve conflict; willingness to search for compromise; recognition of the limits of personal knowledge; awareness that more than one perspective on a problem can exist; and appreciation of the fact that things may get worse before they get better. In retrospect you are young and have much to learn.

otherwise kick ass.

High levels of uric acid in the blood stream. This causes a build up of crystals in certain joints. Kinda like ground up glass. Why my body doesn't process uric acid as well as others science doesn't know. I have been avoiding or cutting back on foods that are high in purines that have been to produce high levels of acid. I haven't had an attack like this in over a year. Even this is relatively mild. I can still limp around on it without much pain.

"Carrying a mascot is a defensive coping mechanism that has deep seated roots in some childhood trauma that has not been resolved and integrated into the subconscious ego, i.e. that which is more commonly known as the id(iot) poho. Most often traced back to the victim being forced by his mother to eat rutabegas, turnips, cabbage, and other nefarious and noxious vegetables "

My dad taught me to play when I was 8. By 12 I was beating him on a regular basis. We have only played about 4 games after I was 13. Had to join chess clubs and tournies and the such. My wife plays chess too. She is a high school math and science teacher. We played a lot while dating. I am lucky if I play a game a year at this point.

My wife hates the way I play. She is aggressive. I play for the end game. I make sure my opening is solid, swap where I can, and work on pawn structure. For me it is all about pawn structure (beyond the obvious battle for the 4 center squares). If a mistake is made, I will take the opportunity, but that is not the goal. I assume, my opponent will not make a mistake. While others are trying to attack my king, I am trying to gain a pawn or double an opponents pawn. Later, I will win with a promoted pawn.

In college on breaks, last night home, we would play full, traditional rules, no matter what. Those were all night battles. Generally, we would go to like 7AM, sleep for an hour or two and head back to school. It has been awhile, but that is the only way to play. It always happened at my house, well, since it was "my" game! It has been awhile since I found myself in a situation where anyone was willing to play without "reduced" rules.

Currently i play risk on a game boy, but the screen is some damn small. usually takes about 2-3 hours for a solution, but i've won in as little as 1 hour, the dice were good to me, and what keeps me playing it is I don't always win, sometimes the computer kicks my but...bastid

You know it had to involve pie. My heart races at the very thought of a lost opportunity for pie.

I have discovered a new favorite place. Whenever I go to East Lansing to get/drop my daughter at MSU, got to hit the Grand Traverse Pie Company - they are absolutely fantastic!!! I am partial to the Blackberry Peach Pie. Mmmmmmm......

I love it out here. the trails are much easier than the ones up north. I feel strong and I didn't want to spend my whole time out on the trail not on the trail. didn't come over this way to sit in motels.

I can't pick on them about it. I spent 3 days of a 10 day trip doing the motel thing in NY & CT because it was so dang hot even at night in July.

25F isn't all that cold. 33F, paradoxically, is. Because the air is usually pretty dry at 25 but may be saturated with humidity at 33. Just above freezing, windy and rainy is hypothermia weather.
