I think I am going to go buy one of those "everywhere" passes from greyhound. For $450 you can get a space available ticket and ride any greyhound anywhere as long as there is an empty seat for an entire month. Being retired I think I could get my monies worth out of it.

I think I am going to go buy one of those "everywhere" passes from greyhound. For $450 you can get a space available ticket and ride any greyhound anywhere as long as there is an empty seat for an entire month. Being retired I think I could get my monies worth out of it.
Many busses now have outlets & wifi. Could be neat.

I thought Greyhound discontinued that program? Am I missing something?
I'm not aware that they ever had it. Sounds like a way to fill up their empty busses though. Lots of seniors would take advantage of it.

They used to sell a 15,30,60 day "discovery pass" from around 150- $650 travel anywhere if a seat is available. I think they stopped offering it last year.

Both look nice. However, I like the ones you can set the pot directly on. My Budweiser stove did very well until the latest mod. I was boiling 2 cups with 15ml in 40 degree weather. Now I can barely make it boil with 20ml.
I played with them - the heat transfer to the bottom slows the process, after a while I gave up on side jets altogether. It is the least effective way to heat a Heiny.

Northern CA on the PCT in July. Really heavy snow pack that year at elevation.

All of her children were soo sweet! The husband/father will be in Daleville, with his car, by the time they hike the 20 miles across the mountain back to Daleville. :)

I read Army Ants journal a while ago.. they are separated. HB, OZ and Daniel were taking a zero on Sunday due to Daniel's injury.... everyone else started walking, again, on Sunday... that's cool that you can walk with them Rasty! :)

Having spent a long and lonely night without access to the internet, alcohol, or Wally World, the beleaguered buffoons sent out a distress call to the local SAR team and rescue efforts are underway as we speak. Said rescue team being composed of Joe Bob's Tires & Towing and his trusty hound dawg Moonshine, who was unwiiling to give up his warm spot in the pickup truck for dirty smelly yankee hiker trash. The rescue had to be split into two trips, with the Idiots being removed from the trail first, and a second trip back for the Morons.
You'll prolly receive a ful report when the gang is reunited and able to post tonight :D

I think I'm gonna do them both. This time the left knee took me off the AT. Last time the right knee took me off the Pinhoti. I was on crutches for 6 weeks then. I'm not needing crutches this time. I realized early enough that it wasn't a go and got off before it got serious.

SS says she knows someone that had gout and kept it under control by taking charcoal capsules for a while along with cherry extract capsules. (taking cherry extract everyday and the charcoal for a short period) As long as he kept taking the cherry extract he had no problems.

Done the cherry caps with mixed result. Never heard of charcoal. This time has been pretty weird. Never really bad but extended.

Yeah - it was more vexing at the time, but getting better. Need to own some Resolve stock! Even the dogs knew it wasn't right - all of their bowls had some dry food along with some of the pepperonis in them - that is highly unusual. They were staying away from the problem. I think most of the purging was done by the time we got home. They woke my wife up (the downside of being the one they love the most...:D) twice during the night, but no more in-house accidents I could find.
On the plus for the trip, found the Baltimore Pike (40) access to the AT just West of Frederick - no problem. Maybe 200 yards of Blue Blaze and then the White in all it's glory overlooking I70. I wanted to chase those scouts across the overpass!

I think they were at Big Spring Gap last night!
ATM, did the IM (Invisible Man) hurt his leg hiking? Hopefully it is something that will heal quickly (the advantage of being young).
Downhills hurt his feet.
I just got a text from Oz....they are making there first 20 into Franklin
Looks like IM may be healing up good. First group was at Winding Stair Gap at 10:50am.

Yes they are a day ahead. First group is Army Ant, Mother Teresa, Papa Wilson. Second group is Hikerboy, Oz, and Invisible Man trying to do a 20 to get there tonite. They may try and reunite. HB may be staying on the trail. I know Army and Oz need to get to the outfitter. HB does not need to come into town. He has enough food to stay out at least 3 - 4 more days.

Yeah, and it is the thing that we really interested in that we notice. I am sure somethings I am not that interested get repeated dozens of times with us really noticing that much.
Perhaps if could get new WB users to learn how to use the search feature it might cut down on this. :-?

I talked to Jacko this afternoon they are planning to keep going until they get to Winding Stair Gap and get a ride in later tonight. I guess IM ate all the food so no option but to come in tonight. If they do that it will be close to a 20 mile day!
