We are spoiled here in southern Connecticut. Each Apizza Parlour has has one particular pie that is better than the rest. Tolli's, in my home town has the most awesome sausage pie. And of course the best make their own sauce.

I had to open an Italian restaurant to get good pizza. Imported two pizza makers from the acceptable pizza maker areas of NY, NJ, CN or Italy. No Chicago pizza for me!

I included some sophisticated humor for OZ

DAD:
There are Jews in the world.
There are Buddhists.
There are Hindus and Mormons, and then
There are those that follow Mohammed, but
I've never been one of them.

I'm a Roman Catholic,
And have been since before I was born,
And the one thing they say about Catholics is:
They'll take you as soon as you're warm.

You don't have to be a six-footer.
You don't have to have a great brain.
You don't have to have any clothes on. You're
A Catholic the moment Dad came,

Because

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

GIRL:
Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty ground.
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is wanted.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

MUM:
Hindu, Taoist, Mormon,
Spill theirs just anywhere,
But God loves those who treat their
Semen with more care.

MEN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
WOMEN:
If a sperm is wasted,...
CHILDREN:
...God get quite irate.

PRIEST:
Every sperm is sacred.
BRIDE and GROOM:
Every sperm is good.
NANNIES:
Every sperm is needed...
CARDINALS:
...In your neighbourhood!

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is useful.
Every sperm is fine.
FUNERAL CORTEGE:
God needs everybody's.
MOURNER #1:
Mine!
MOURNER #2:
And mine!
CORPSE:
And mine!

NUN:
Let the Pagan spill theirs
O'er mountain, hill, and plain.
HOLY STATUES:
God shall strike them down for
Each sperm that's spilt in vain.

EVERYONE:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite iraaaaaate!

Okay, I just meandered into the latest alcohol on the trail thread, but almost got hit by a bottle as I walked in the door. Decided to choose my battles and sneak back out after reading the first dozen posts. What the heck happened there?!? Was anything useful said in the ensuing ten pages, or is it just the usual nonsense and vitriol?
I came into WB, saw the page count on thread and have marked post all read without going in there.
I learnt at a young age to keep out of fights with people who drink. They have an annoying habit of not listening.

Interesting you should all be expecting a storm.
Going through two days of rain squalls, wind gusts over 60mph (i.e over 100kph we would say) and "light" hail.
I think Bob Dylan called that hard rain.
Driving the truck at 110kph and getting regular occasions where it says "nope - I want THIS lane now".
White knuckle stuff but at least it kept me awake.

Southern hemisphere so same as Mulungu.
We just started spring ( but it's p###ing down).
When I was a lad I learnt in school that the seasons started around the 21st, 22nd of the relevant months.

Yeah I am sort of thinking that's the case but I'm not the noggin thumping kind - to your face or in cyberspace.
It might sound strange but some of the rants are actually very informative - about the people ranting obviously, but also about the makeup of the hiking community and the issues to avoid for a peaceful hike.
My intention is to get along with anyone out on the trail, but rest assured, I won't be seeking to split motel room costs with a few I will be "happily" sharing shelters with.

The attacks on the cafe is what prompted my comment.
For anyone interested my view is that this is a humour thread, a pseudo chat room and not something that warrants attack.
Everyone has a different idea of what's funny (hence the demise of "ethnic" jokes) and the 21st century way to deal with humour you don't like is to ignore it.

Not sure what Honey Badger you killed... Henrietta was running errands with me this morning.

Oh, you might want to make sure that Honey Badger is dead. They have a way of looking like they are dead, only to get up and shake it off. I wouldn't want to be the one trying to bury a Honey Badger who wasn't dead... I still have 3 bullets left.

Good thing - That other Honey Badger was chewing on your SILWF. Henrietta has been hanging out in her hammock while I have been working.

after 911 no 1 had more reason to be fearful then New Yorkers. it didn't take long for us to realize if we lived in fear they would win..we mourned our fallen heroes, our friends and our loved ones.
and then we went back to work.

Look Kindle can be on your smart phone as an app and there are loads of classics for free and quite a few backpacking books are available some free others are $3 each... so if you are the passenger as I was for two and half tonight - listen to your play list on MP4 of favorite music at the same time read up!

My sleep cycles are all off. I get my 8 hours, just in shorter increments and odd times of day.
Question for ya - have you checked into your options for getting a sim card for your phone, once you get here, so you don't incur roaming charges from your home country? Someone asked me about that in a pm and I was wondering if you'd looked into this yet.

Yes and no.
Not even considering taking my phone. Will suspend it for 6 months.
Son and I will be lobbing in to a Verizon store in Atlanta and getting what we consider most appropriate then and there.
The way phones/kindles/tabs update, not going to pick one before then, it'll be out of date by March.

+1 on "As Far As the Eye Can See"'
I am currently rewatching "Trek", have seen The Beaten Path, Appalachian Impressions, 2000 miles to Maine, the National Geographic show, North to Katahdin and Southbounders (who'd have thought you could cross a hiking movie with a chick flick?).
Also have read As Far As the Eye Can See, The Beaten Path, Becoming Odyssa, Promises to Keep (by Jesse Brampton a fellow West Aussie - he did it over 2 years, had some personal issues. Reasonable read but probably more importantly he came back and was a major force in creating our Bibbulmun Track) and numerous other AT books.
Did I mention I have a hard copy of 2011 Data Handbook as toilet reading?
If it's been written, I'm reading it folks!
