What can you do? Really I use my right hand more often and it works fine. Go figure.

It's pouring rain here in Alachua County with Andrea coming through later today. How's the weather in Albertville?

You will be surprised. I thought the same thing. I am right handed. I did okay when they did the right hand. I was completely lost when they did the left one. I realized then that the right hand was the boss and the left was the serf. The right was reserved for the detailed work and the left did all the grunt work.

Is Snicklefritz for real or is someone pulling our leg?

Ya', he is for real. Santa and the Easter Bunny are fake, but do not doubt the existence of Snicklefritz. He is the German version of the Gremlin. He laughs at you as you struggle to keep electronics from going haywire if you don't believe in him.

Wow ,... Thanks for the prayers and thoughts everyone. I realize my problem is insignificant when compared to a lot of people out there, but as someone said, it is aggravating.

Here's what the surgeon told me. My hand problem is not with my shoulder. It's a carpal tunnel kind of thing. I will have to get a nerve conductivity test.

I'm puzzled cuz the only repetitive thing I do with my left hand is rest it on my hip or keep it in my pocket. He asked me about the GB disease and did I type out all those lines of HTML with my left hand and I said no.

That is odd. Hope they get you straightened out. My ct flares up every now and then depending on what I do (tightening down a lot of nuts and bolts, etc.).

Something gives way in my wrist when I'm doing lots of nut and bolt stuff. Takes a few days to get back to normal. Even then I can tell something is weak and just ain't right.

GB so glad you got it checked out and it's not anything 2 serious.

We are getting a piece of Andrea, right now. Steady rain heavy at times. I feel bad for the hikers comin through... it's not a great day for McAfee or Tinker Cliffs. They look forward to it the whole way up here and then BOOM.. rain! :(

My concern also, considering the tract of this storm coming up this weekend. There will be flash flooding somewhere, and it will end up in the bigger main streams.

I was canoeing in the Big South Fork in Guntucky one time and it starting raining and that river started rising and picking up speed by the minute. Best thing to do is paddle hard and try not to just float along. That's what gets you in trouble.

Hope this works out for you too. I could not play guitar while all that was going on...could feel the strings. Deet and Permethrin. Spray heavy, lie clothes flat till it soaks in good. either let them dry like that or hang up. I've put my clothes back on in a couple of hours or the next day. No problems either way. Deet I use very sparingly. Spray skin only and spread it thin. I sprayed socks one time and got a rash. Never a problem with Permethrin.

So we paddled over 60 miles in 2 1/2 days.
Had a ball and were at a nice campground with primitive facilities.
The next day the girls and I got a lift to town with the guy that manages it.
I was needing some contact lens fluid as I had sat on my glasses and the girls had some things to do as well.
By the time we got back the morning drizzle become the all day drizzle.
Then we hear the forecast of thunderstorms and heavier rain.
So now the canoes are upside down with stuff like life jackets and paddles (and a very wet p#####d off kangaroo) under them in a corner of the campground and the 6 of us are crammed into 2 rooms of a hotel in Luray with wet tents hanging everywhere.

Well at the last Best Western I got a map of Virginia and surrounds and it showed where other BW's are.
One phone call and an accommodating manager of the campground and here we are.

With the rain we noticed hiker trash streaming down off the mountains into town while we were eating.
Also at least 10 other hikers are currently aquablazing, including one who has gashed her leg in a capsize incident.

One of those small pieces was day hikes and horses near Skyland, with X and young son. We then went to Lurray caverns on our way to Gettysburg.

When you get up to Harper's Ferry, give me a shout. I'm only 25 minutes away (and only because I have to drive around the mountain). And I'm about 35 minutes from Bear's Den.

Famous indeed! Leef peeping down there should be gorgeous. We did our trip in SNP doing half one weekend and the other half two weekends later. Absolutely gorgeous. Oh and traffic on the AT? I can only imagine. I remember being thrilled to set foot in Vermont on a section last year and told the kids about growing up with stories of the leaves in New Hampshire or skiing in Vermont. But I can't imagine what it's like up there during the fall color show. Down here you can take a trip down I81 or Rt. 15 to get a beautiful look at the mountains and there's nary more than normal traffic on the road. At the entrance to SNP there is a line of cars waiting to get onto Skyline drive. We tried once and turned around and went to a state park that day instead. Figured hiking was the only way to avoid the crowds.21910

Oh yeah... I remember leaf peepin season in NH. My Uncle came up from NJ and burned his clutch out going through Franconia Notch. (bumper to bumper... all MA. plates.. :p) Those colors on the mountains are forever burned in my memory. I've never seen such beauty in the Fall anywhere else. I hope we have a pretty fall this year.
