I am a rare person that has a memory from every year of my life. I do not recall exactly when it became an obsession. I believe it was sealed at a very early age at a fair with my father. My mother and father were divorced. I remember the raw emotion he was tortured by on that day. I remember getting 2 items. One was a printout that stated that my favorite color was green and that my favorite number was 4. I also got an aluminum slug that had my name on it and address with a 4 leaf cover on the back. I still have the slug. Although it is worn smooth, I can see it as brand new in my mind's eye.

Now mind you, I already had 4 as a favorite number and green as a favorite color. Call me a nut, but I believe God loves children and that those 2 moments were ordered for me by God. I could explain why I like the number 4, but felt this would be a better facet to relay.

i'm picturing a child about 6 years old. it's neat that you still have that slug. i don't have many things from my childhood, mostly just memories. there are a few things, a spoon we used for syrup. it had a hook just above the bowl so we could rest it hanging on the side of the syrup can (my mom was from VT, and we always managed to have real maple syrup!). seems like these things you've kept are a strong connection to your father? is he still around? (just ignore if i'm prying too much - just conversation)

Sigmoid Fraud would have great fun with me. I have memories back to being a few weeks old. It is the type of memory at that age he would drool over. I think he drooled a lot being insane.

i think i have a memory from when i was about a year old, another when i was maybe 2. but weeks old! wow, that is remarkable! freud the fraud would have enjoyed you!

I've linked a fireworks documentary in my signature...it was done by the late George Plimpton and is the best documentary I've seen on the subject...give it a looksy when you get time.

Plimpton also wrote a book called "Fireworks" a history of, and no longer in print. It's a great book.

I nailed it with the StingEze right when it happened and every hour after that for the next 3 hours. It got a little red and warm but went right away. Never swelled up. Got up this morning to a tiny itchy blister and popped in and now it doesn't even itch.

I've always used cornmeal, mainly cuz i didn't know better. somebody told me flour works better, so that's what i'm doing this year.

in this case there's a 1.5" hole in the dirt floor, right where i have to walk. not sure about 90% being above ground. i'll do some research... see what i can learn.
what we've done in the past, which is probably a bad way, is to pour gasoline in the hole when it gets dark and they're all home.

don't really wanna do that in the chickenhouse, cause my birds would have to smell it too. maybe i could move them out temporarily...
