My brother handed it to me to check out....I took it out of its bag....boing.....it went up, I got in it(i dont really like tents). He said I couldn't go home until I got it back in the bag. it took me about a half hour to figure it out....using the instructions. Once I figured it out, it took 30 seconds!

Coach, that is so cool that it pops right up as well... boing. :D Now, the figureing out how to get it back in the bag doesn't surprise me but once you do it a few times, it should be a cinch!! I want one!!

well for the second time in 4 days i went up to harriman to do some trail magic.at fitzgerald falls i met twix and salsa, coach, bluegrass and bella, lone wolf(no a different lone wolf)and my old pal homebrew, brought them some powerade and water. threw their packs in my trunk, and slackpacked them and a few others to lake tiorati in harriman, right past fingerboard shelter. twix had twisted her ankle 2 days before and hung out with me, taking a zero to rest her ankle. we went back to town, i bought bunch of roast beef heros, turkey heroes, veggie heroes, cokes, mountain dews, pepsis, fantas, gallons of water, then met the slackers for lunch at orange turnpike. reloaded them with water and gatorade, then met them at elk pen parking lot where another life long section hiker was doing some trail magic of his own.after we armwrestled to see who was providing better trail magic(it ended in a tie). the crew headed back up the trail and me and twix headed down the road to go around to the lake and hang out there until they came.a few more nobos showed up needed a ride into the city, so i agreed to take them . while we hung out, another former thru turned trail angel, came with much food and drink, so we all hung out thru dinner before we said our goodbyes and i took the 3 nobos into nyc.
it was so great to see everyone again, and being able to hang out with twix made it even better. the whole day kept me connected to my trail family and i just felt great. they all told me it was their best day on the trail( i had just slacked them through the roughest part of ny.

all in all a beautiful day

If anybody cares, here's what Wikipedia gives as full names for the queen, her father, and her son. Doesn't look like they have last names, unless 'Arthur George' counts somehow.

George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George; 14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952)
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926)
Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George, born 14 November 1948)

ROYAL BABY BORN

LONDON—After months of anticipation, representatives for the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton confirmed today that the royal baby has finally made its way into the world. “I am very excited to report that the little sire has been born happy, hungry, and ready to greet the nation,” said a representative for the Royal Family, who noted that while the Duchess experienced some slight soreness during birth, it was all worth it to see the newborn prince in person. “We all simply cannot wait to see what our recent arrival has in store for Britain, and indeed the world at large.” At press time, the proud new mother was reportedly recovering in Buckingham Palace and unavailable for comment.

Ok, this is kinda cool. Last year two days from now, there were approx 2,364 users online (guests and members combined). I've been watching this number to see when it grows throughout the year, and for the most part it hovers around 400-700 at any given time. Today for the first time that I've noticed this last year, it has risen to a whooping 966 users. In two days it will be the date it reached the all time high....I guess people start looking for outdoor info around this time of year...thanks you, that is all.

I knew that. BTW, my shoes convert into a tent. Its just hard to get the tent back in the heel.

You have to take the Double Aught Seven Secret Radio out of the shoe heel first. It's much easier that way!

Then in Jan-Mar it balloons, dropping moderately after March as hikers depart on their thrus. It's a very cyclical pattern.

Hi, guys. Since I've got a recent flurry of well wishes from WBers, I thought I'd poke my head in the door and give a shout!

I was hoping this year to SOBO a short section in New York or southern New England as the Silly Walkers were coming through, so that I could meet some of that gang, but the stars are not aligning for that! (And even less for getting to Maine for HB's party; that's just too far for this year.)

Anyway, life is getting better slowly, and I'll be back on the trail at some point, no doubt even more of a snail than usual for lack of practice and conditioning.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone, and I return you to the usual silliness.

After 44 years I still say thank you to my wife anytime she does anything for me. Like fix meals, bring me coffee, find something I forget where I put it (happens often). So I say thank you many times a day. I'm also in the habit of thanking people even though they are paid, like waitresses bringing my food or refilling my coffee cup. Sometimes a "Thank You" can change someone's day.
