I have pulled literally thousands of ticks in my life, almost all of them by hand.

This is the first gadget I've ever tried for tick removal that actually works. It's especially useful for the smaller deer ticks, since it will pull them out without breaking off any part of their imbedded mouth/head .

If you regularly get tick bites, I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

Well you are listening to the press and did not do your homework... The press makes a habit of building people up and tearing them down.... Its all about ratings and $$... how do you justify years of scrutiny and tests and blood tests and getting negative results, from scientists! EPO is easy to find! they test horses for years, and USADA would not give him a fair shake or a good hearing ... and after so many years and lawyers, he gave up...He proved himself over and over again and beat all the tests... so the USADA was looking for the justification of millions of dollars they spent and wanted a scapegoat. How many lawyers and how much money would you want to spend to defend your titles? They look like cool products - my friend has one for bananas, and I got the reference from her. they have almost no retailers in U.S. - it'd be great if REI or EMS carried them, for the various fruits and sandwiches. Sorry I missed your response GB. I'm not used to anyone replying "same time" to me except sometimes a choochoo with insomnia.
Time here is exactly 12 hours different from AT time zone.
Never heard of Outback Restaurant - never watched any of that Steve Irwin Zoo stuff either. Sorry.
I actually watch mostly sport and comedy, mostly Oz and British shows.
I don't ever watch cop shows, violent movies or reality shows. They're never real anyway.
I'm pretty boring really.

Re marsupial steaks - some restaurants do serve kangaroo and crocodile etc, but it really isn't a very good "gourmet" meat.
Game food rarely is - Rasty can probably explain better, but basically wild animal is generally tougher and drier etc. Doesn't stop them charging an arm and a leg for it though.
I have eaten a fair bit of 'roo but in casseroles and stews not steaks. It is very lean, dark and rich in iron (hey all of Australia is rich in iron).
Lends itself well to slow cooking.
Meat from things that go moo is much better in my humble opinion.

In my younger days one of my best friends (best man at my wedding and vice versa) was a struggling farmer who supplemented his income by shooting roos for pet food. I have spent nights on the back of a utility (read small truck in USA) with a spotlight and a rifle. Parking in a corner of a paddock and gutting 10-20 roos at a time is a not so fond memory.:p

I think he was at the tail end of an era of cycling where "many" were doing it - I won't say all.
Regardless of the facts he and his team still won 7 Tours. The cameras didn't fake all those miles on the bike.
I'm glad that cycling is cleaning its act up but I still admire the achievement, sporting and otherwise.

Like most top sports people though, I think as a person he is probably the owner of an enormous ego that will not buckle.
You have to be a bit that way to rise to the top, with or without illicit support.

I hope he keeps his 7 yellow shirts and tells them to take a hike.

In the US what is served as wild game is actually farm raised and it’s not the same. Real wild duck meat is redder then beef and has a distinct meaty flavor. The farm raised stuff is good but not in the same league. Domestic animals (Cow, Pig and Lamb) develop meat with marbling of the fat. The majority of wild animals have lean muscle with the fat layer outside of the meat. The key to cooking game is to serve it rare, make sausage to combine the lean and fat layers or stew it. Diet also plays a huge roll in the flavor of meat. Farm raised pigs are fed mostly corn or grain byproduct. Wild hogs forage and eat acorns as a big part of their diet. They are no longer the “other white meat” and the flavor changes and the fat become marbled.

well i just moved from my apartment in long beach to island park and now live 50 yards away from reynolds channel, the bay side of Long beach Island, and last year my neighbors told me they were using kayaks and rowboats, water in our street was waist high, and i expect sandy will be worse, becuase it aint moving out too fast. so im hoping for the best, hope sandy blows through quickly, and we wont lose anything, but i know theyll evacuate monday, and once i leave wont be allowed to return until the authorities deem it safe. ill probably camp out here at the dealership as its on high ground with an excellent view of little neck bay. iif we dont lose power weve got cable tv wifi, kitchen, etc,.
ill bring pepe along as pepe and water dont go together well, and hell be good company to sit out the storm.hope i can get back to my home quickly and not be homeless for days, the hotels and motels are already booked solid for the week, noones taking chances.

im disappointed he didnt continue to fight. i didnt say i believed he was guilty, and it has been a witch hunt, much like the clinton impeachment, where after spending millions of dollars investigating, the authorities were compelled to find guilt.
i just think he should have continued to fight.

Lance folded his tent at the last moment he possibly could in order to preserve some shred of good will and plausible deniability with fans willing to be generous in extending him the benefit of the doubt. He was looking at over 10 of his former teammates coming forward and testifying against him at length and in detail. That was not going to be pretty. This way, without the spectacle of public, probably live televised testimony, he can go on saying it's a witch hunt without heading directly into that firestorm.

The analogy to Clinton doesn't quite hold, I think - where Gingrich and the Republicans hated Pres. Clinton and wanted him out of office and, for what it's worth, had done nothing directly to enable his misbehavior with his paramour, the US Anti-Doping Agency and the Tour, a) didn't want this in any way, as Lance is/was the biggest star in the history of the sport and this makes for an enormous black eye for them, and b) they are now being accused of having enabled him and fellow competitors in their doping, looking the other way as it happened. Big contrast.

The Onion had it right long ago with their "cheat to win" yellow rubber bracelets, sorry to say. His best excuses are that every other major competitor likely was doing the same at the time, though was cannot know if that was true, and that he had emerged from god-awful cancer and extended, past the purposes of treatment and recovery of that illness, the therapies he had undergone for it - I don't know whether that's true or not, but it may be.

Good luck! Shouldn't be too bad of a storm.

In 1997 I had 30" of water in the house I was living in. I knew it was coming and stacked all my furniture on top of a few tables all the way to the ceiling. I put the TV on top of the fridge. My two neighbors to to each side had their refrigerators flip over. I guess the TV weighed it down just enough to keep it from floating away.

by the clinton analogy, iwas suggesting when you spend a ton of money to find guilt, you inevitably are forced to justify that expense. clinton was hung on a BJ, had nothing to do with the original investigation, but after spending $32million, starr had to get something
on him and eventually found it.i know its different, but witch hunts usually have an inevitable conclusion to justify the hunt.

There's no question that prosecutorial machinery can be a ravenous beast which consumes the innocent with the guilty and pegs large wrongdoings on small-time offenders. I agree with your analogy there, HB, just saying that the big contrast here is motivation. USADA and the Tour wish this had never happened, whereas Starr, Gingrich and co. performed a thorough-going retrospective troll through Clinton's past, eager to find something they could hang him on and, along the way, smear him with - it was purely about hampering him politically and bringing him down if they could, not about purging the system generally, as I see it. The Doping Agency is responding to widespread allegations of cheating by Armstrong and others in an effort, systematically, to clean up the sport. Big difference.

In the end, Lance's string has run out. He probably will have to do the come-to-Jesus confessional tour circuit - a Barbara Walters or Oprah special type thing, with plenty of Kleenex. That might not be all bad, in the sense that he has done a lot of good for cancer research and, as a survivor, is still somewhat of an inspiration. I don't love him or hate him at this point, my view: "it's complicated."

Two cats: Douglas and Baby Girl (he came with his name and she chose hers). He's a 12-y.o. tuxedo with four socks and the best personality of any cat I've ever had. She's a 7-y.o. half Rag Doll, half domestic long hair, also black and white with beautiful blue eyes - they both have pretty eyes, in fact, his are golden. She's smitten with me, as far as she's concerned I'm her man, not just her buddy or the guy who feeds her. He and she fight over dominance - he's bigger but getting slow in his old age, while she has lightning-quick paws. He came first and at some point she may need to find another home.

"He who lives by media, dies by media"....

It always gets me when those patronising breakfast and "current affairs" shows that demonise people regularly, just as regularly run a story on someone suffering "trial by media" shortly after a rival network got the jump on them in originally demonising that person.

Don't think they have a 6 month release performance enhancing drug on the shelves yet.
Vitamin I gets a bit overused though. I'm a fan of a small amount in the first week and some more for small injuries, but if still being used as a matter of course after a fortnight, you should really consider if it's doing you more harm than good.

I'm inland, Choo Choo, so no evacs. Hoping we don't lose power, in which case ppl would head for emergency shelters, most likely. For Snowtober a year ago, it got to be a drag - I was almost 7 days w/o electricity. There will be evacs in some low-lying shoreline areas, and especially along Long Island, NYC, NJ, DE and MD low-lying areas close to the ocean and bays. Coach's neighbors and HB will be affected, for sure.

well have to move as many cars indoors as we can, particularly the camaros and corvettes as well as any service vehicles. we obviuosly arent expecting too many idiots to come out in the storm, but its not supposed to get bad until monday afternoon. i dont expect to open tuesday, but stroms are fickle, and we want to be prepared to open as the month ends wednesday, so if we can we will. noone is oign to be forced to be at work if conditions are that bad, the authorities want everyone to stay off the roads. im staying there because il be able to keep my car out of harms way, ill be warm and dry, and as long as we dont lose power, we've got wifi, cable tv,refrigerator microwave, as well as shelter mice and racoons. and theres a great view of little neck bay, itll be a great vantage point to watch the storm.

In the past 14 hours, the forecast has turned worse for us, especially for NYC area. With landfall projected for mid-NJ coast, NYC will be right in the teeth of the storm. We have to hope that it is as weak as possible when it hits. Not quite so bad for us inland in New England, but not a pretty picture. For my town, the chance of tropical storm force winds has gone up in the forecast from 42 to 54% since last evening. Fingers crossed that what we get here is not as bad as Irene. It stands to reason that the effects won't be as bad as Snowtober, since snow isn't predicted for us and the leaves are down to a much greater extent than they were last year at this point. It's remarkable that Snowtober hit on 10/29 last year and Sandy will stroll in on the same day. Wow!
