Pepe confounds the problem.....tourists come down to the beach, see all those little pepe prints all over the beach, how are they to enjoy their National Park Beach Vacation. Nesting turtles are also a nuisance, looks like dune buggy driving.I think I will write my congressman to start a study.:-?

coupla days ago lazarus mentioned another outing. at long path shawangunk ridge trail.i gotta get the maps out and look at possible loops. the long path and at run parallel through harriman, long path camping opportunities are spotty north of harriman to the catskills, not sure of restrictions south of harriman.
timing wise, its not easy for me to get off weekends and if i do it would need to be one of the first 2 weekends of the month.

Many had planned on early start & Davenport Shelter, drop pack & make the store a mile down to gap & 1/2 or so mile down road. Alarms went off. Zipper opened, curse spoken, bag zippered back up. Yet from heavy snow in morning as trail decended we hike into sunshine & spring with leaves budding & a forest of green.

Great wierd place. I still love it even though I'm only there about once a year these days.

They have some of the most eclectic lineups I've ever seen: Aaron Carter, George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelic, Drive by truckers and Reel Big fish are all playing shows there in the next couple of months, not to mention a lot of bands from the local metal and hip-hop scenes.

They were a couple of Skunks that lived under the shelter. They came out at night & scoured the shelter looking for food scraps. They would walk right on top of hikers. You kinda just lay there hoping nobody would do anything stupid.

We had skunks like that back when I was a kid at scout camp. They'd go right into our old A-frame tents. What a great way to become desensitized to wild animals!

Assume doing this way since you are having Standing Bear Farms shuttle you back to Fontanna Dam. But could probably flip that around if you wanted to. Should be fun!

I always plan like a mofo & make sure I print it on really soft paper with a lazer printer. That way it's dual use & can wipe my but cuzz plans never last beyond getting to the trail, if that
