Both are a rareity for me now...darn gout. But dry aged meat out here is to die for! There is a place outside of Cheyenne, WY I would go to every year. Cut the meat with your fork. Their drunken rib-eye was to die for!
My friend graduated from the University Of Wyoming in Cheyenne. At the time he said his dormitory was the tallest building in the state. It a lot different out your way. Not a lot of people for a whole lotta land. Wyoming has 3.8 head of cattle per person. When I lived in Billings the hospital there was the go to heart place for 4 states.

It happens coach. They get the pacific stuff. My sister came to Billings one time and I took her to a place downtown that was a converted home, somewhat upscale and she had scallops that to this day swears they were the best she ever had and she's a Florida gal. Contrary to that the best filet mignon I ever had was in Key West supposedly from cows raised down there somewhere.

Just making what I thought was a safe observation. Seen many failed marriages that had there foundations being glitter and hype. I have been happily married for 27+ years. I can honestly say the vast majority of issues in my marriage were my fault. I do not say things perfectly, as no doubt many have observed here. It is a subject of happiness verses heartache. No one goes into a marriage hoping for misery. Just though I have useful information to impart. It is never my intent to get in someones grill on here. Just trying to help. I am about ready to delete this account and move on. I fear I am offending too many people. It is not my intent.

Read the instruction manual. A truly experienced driver would be able to keep that engine running! The finer cars are built to last

Unfortunately neither ex came with an instruction manual, only a bunch of instructions for me to follow. Did not work out either time, and won't happen again. However, the 25 years invested has fortunately resulted in 5 magnificent kids and one incredible grandchild. Life has its way of trumping the bad with the good.

You can't imagine how hard it is to get a good picture of one of these things. They are very skiddish and only the size of a fat bluejay. Plus they live on islands 10 miles from the mainland. When you get near the islands that far out your 30' boat is going up and down about 1/3 of its length. I took about 100 pictures and this is the only good one I got.

The water levels were pretty low when we were there and the horses just walked on through. The second night we got to camp in a huge alcove, just 100 feet away from an Anasazi ruin. It was a full moon that night and the light shining off the ruins was just magical. I tried to get a photo but mine didn't turn out too well. Not a lot of people for a whole lotta land. Wyoming has 3.8 head of cattle per person. When I lived in Billings the hospital there was the go to heart place for 4 states.

That sounds good to me. 38.8 cattle per person means a lot of steak! :)

LOL & it's nice to make a friend in case you break down!

You got that right. I was on a trip to Houston once and had a blowout. Whoever had put tire on had used an electric sock wrench, so there was no way I was going to get it off with the little mini one leg tire iron that came with the van. I was "rescued" by a couple guys I bet were illegal aliens. They did not speak a bit of English, just "Houston Amigos". But they had an old 4 way tire iron in their car that did the trick. So I gave them a couple of twenties and we all lived happily ever after.

A woman that used to work at the Lake Worth pool where I used to swim told me that back in the 30's they used to kick the lobsters up on shore with their feet in the Intracoastal Waterway every night. Said she grew tired of lobster.

My dad was a general contractor and couple who guys who worked with him that were really good snook fisherman. The carpenter set all kinds of records, and was always glad to take my Dad with him, so he could catch over the one person limit. A brick/stone mason he used would times offer for him come as much he wanted. They loved catching them, but there is so much your family is interested in. So we enjoyed there excess.

well it seems like some people feel we're owed an explanation.same with dakota joe.i guess they have it coming to them in the first place if they announce their grand plan here on wb, but dakota joe did not, and yet everyone feels like he should be letting us know what going on every day. i had once thought about hiking for charity, then thought better of it because i would have to give constant updates, and i didnt want to feel any kind of pressure when i was hiking that i had to keep in touch.i wouldnt ever journal my ld hikes, just take pictures(which i can later delete the day before i go home:mad:)

Like most things in life, it depends on your point of reference...are you looking up, or looking down.

Saw this on the wall when eating at Jimmy Johns today with my son.

An American businessman was standing at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish.

"How long did it take you to catch them?" The American asked.

"Only a little while." The Mexican replied.

"Why don't you stay out longer and catch more fish?" The American then asked.

"I have enough to support my family's immediate needs." The Mexican said.

"But," The American then asked, "What do you do with the rest of your time?"

The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos, I have a full and busy life, senor."

The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds you buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats."

"Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the consumers, eventually opening your own can factory. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senor, how long will this all take?"

To which the American replied, "15-20 years."

"But what then, senor?"

The American laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO (Initial Public Offering) and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions."

"Millions, senor? Then what?"

The American said slowly, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take a siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos..."

Hiking also removes guilt with the calories you burn. On long hikes I have even taken it to what would gross many people out in normal settings. Like the times a bunch of thrus got together & made burritos at the hostel in Pearisburg. Guy frying hamburg up asked what to do with the fat? We let it congeal a bit & spooned it on...man they tasted great!

19440Yeah, been there done that. Many of my PCT pics show me in shorts & t-shirt hiking in snow. At first my secretary couldn't comprehend snow when it was warm. Once a great day took a dramatic turn. Was teaching woman I was hiking with some orienteering on a saddle with a nice view. Then I saw storm clouds so we decided to hustle to campsite. We got there it was nice & level, fire ring & under about 3" of water. Storm hit as we (I ) was trying to navigate across snowfields. As I was postholing like Nitewalkers pic & cursing like a sailor she was trying to say how pretty the rain made it with all the waterfalls running off the rocks. Had to bail below snowline to find a decent camp.19441
