I hate peas, but love pea-pods. T-bone steak and pea-pods being cooked as we type.

I tried something different with veggies that I like. Had a nice ribeye last night along with snap beans, squash, onions, celery, jalopeneos all stir fried together with a little olive oil. The beans were a change of pace from the old southern method of boiled with a hunk of fatback.

I would say that you are making me hungry, but you are not... only because I just ate so much t-bone steak and pea-pods that I can hardly move. Your meal sounds delicious though.

Oops.....I just ruined Overloads Peasoup. She made a huge batch for church Superbowl raffle. I was suppose to warm it up this morning. I put it on the stove and went to the head..........she got up to the burning smell. She isn't bringing it.......I'll eat it......so it has a little twang to it.

Just the opposite at our house last night. Wife left meatballs and sauce in crock pot. She meant to leave it on warm. Unfortunately she left it on high. Good part was meatballs were saturated with the sauce. Bad thing was sauce was pretty much disapearing, and some meatballs were burning. Did not look that good, but still tasted pretty good for the most part.

Daleville has EVERYTHING at your finger tips, literally. I'm sure you already know that... It's just that I'm such a "people person", that I'm like- Oh.. hey, I'm just 5 miles down the road, when you roll into Daleville. Hey- I'd like to meet ya, offer a ride 2 the store, Walmart.. on and on. If you like to go on hikes and not "meet up" with others I totally understand... no prob. I completely understand. :D Feel free to contact me if you need anything, at all.

19440Yeah, been there done that. Many of my PCT pics show me in shorts & t-shirt hiking in snow. At first my secretary couldn't comprehend snow when it was warm. Once a great day took a dramatic turn. Was teaching woman I was hiking with some orienteering on a saddle with a nice view. Then I saw storm clouds so we decided to hustle to campsite. We got there it was nice & level, fire ring & under about 3" of water. Storm hit as we (I ) was trying to navigate across snowfields. As I was postholing like Nitewalkers pic & cursing like a sailor she was trying to say how pretty the rain made it with all the waterfalls running off the rocks. Had to bail below snowline to find a decent camp.19441

check out this rookie i brought up huntington ravine for his 1st hike. it was the morning after a night of drinking and bragging that he said it was huntington or nothing. so i agreed on huntington. we started around 9am and finally crested the headall at 7:00pm as the last cars were coming off the mtn ,no bull. this guy was hurting so bad but never gave up. i give him a ton of credit. this hike was by far the most harroing hike i have done to date.

we are struggling just to get up the trail as the day was geting shorter by the miniute.on the way up the wall about half way we ran into a group of 3 girls that were having a tuff time of it coming down in the conditions that day. huntington is not a trail u want to be going down in bad weather. when we came across them the yougest girl was clinging to the edge of a rock crying and blubering that she could not move because she was too scared. the mom was trying to talk her into moving but that was geting nowhere at all. the mom was just making the situation more tense.
at this point im starting to worry that all six of us were not going to get up the mtn before dark. i quickly realize that this young girl was going to fall off the rock if i let the situation drag out any longer. i took over and started to talk to the girl real calmly and tried to boost her confidence so that she could complete the maneuver necessary to get off the rock ledge. after talking to her for several miniutes i decided to climb up and get behind her so that she had a protective barrier to keep her from slipping off. i got up there and grabed her so that she felt more at ease.after talking to her and explaining what she needed to do she lunged forward and grabbed the rock she needed to. we were finally out of a bad situation.we talked the girls into turning around and going back up the mtn. there was no way they were gonig down what we had already struggled up. needless to say it was one interesting hike back down the auto road to pinkham notch by way of old jackson road trail...one long day for sure

Waited out the storm next day & got joined by another group that bailed because they couldn't start a fire. Even though Michele hated steep snow climbs she agreed to hike up to their abandoned campsite. We feasted for a day & had enough other food to resupply for the two days we lost. Fresh trout in the snowbank convinced me it was worth the climb!

If it is, I would say it is a very boring one. Which I believe leads to its popularity. There is so little action (like 17 minutes in an NFL game) that you really do not have to pay attention to follow what is happening. Thus it is very easy to be a casual fan and focus on socializing or what ever instead of the actual game.

In "Real Sports" like Baseball and Basketball there is constant action and strategy happening, that you really need to pay attention to, to fully appreciate. Hockey and Soccer probably also fit into the "real sports" category for the same reasons.

Is that considered political? She did pay money to cover things up & make them go away.

That went down as cafegate. It's been swept under the dirt.

So true, ask her about that! Why she became a donating member! lol!

Wrong!
I became a donating member so I could dump the ugly avatar - the same one that Rory no Morey made fun of later on - the unisex one with the mullet and wizard stick!
The posting faux pas came shortly afterward.
But I was happy to use my new found powers :o

And I apologize in advance to anyone who currently is using this avatar, but it is pretty ambiguous in appearance! and you can make it go away forever for just a tee-tiny investment. And make other things go away too, if need be :D

It open right up for me and dont forget I only have 3G if that helps you in any way. 2 campgrounds are there.

They are both off the AT but offer different things. Dry River is FS Where Cawford Notch is Commercial with store, laundry. shower some hikers use for nero & zeros. I also want to give option for section hikers so I will probably include more stuff like that not found in companion or Awolls.

I like it MM. It's got a lot of neat stuff. Adding the Hostels, the Cog, Tourist traps and falls would be fantastic.

I have 4G and it opened really fast.
I really don't know anything else to ask for right now.
How long do you think it will take to drive from Gorham to Monson?

Ill keep plugging away at it. I think first priority will be adding the Mile markers at road crossings already listed. From there just keep working on other features.

A little over 3 hrs. Most of it is on RT 2 which is pretty decent. Just Under 150 miles.

Fix it up real good and we'll sell them in the cafe to finance my hike this summer. Calendar sales are totally stalled out. No one wants to buy a calendar that only has one month in it. Mr. December was the only one that came through with a picture!

I zoomed in far enough to even see a tiny little hiker!! I got all excited at first, but when I realized it was just a section hiker, and not a celebrity thru-hiker, I just moused away. Not worth my time.
