Ahhhh... Rasty. NPD is nothin to joke about.... it's the worst kind of PD and there's no cure. No meds for it and therapy doesn't work real well. Ppl with this Disorder can't feel empathy or compassion for anyone. If I could choose a life's career again.. I would want to be a part of finding a workable "cure" for this disorder. Here's the kicker... ppl with this disorder didn't choose this, just like all the other disorders & diseases. At least with the others there's something you can do to deal but this one has nothing. I've never spoke to a manager in person I've always emailed the store I want it sent to and they have always sent me an email back saying it has been ordered and will send another when the item comes in which they have. Now this has only been in Walmarts in Alabama, Florida, Michigan and Montana. I'm not sure about any other states.

If there was something you wanted, they had it. And in 3 price categories. Good, better, best, according to what you were willing to pay. Now it has turned into a one choice take it or leave it, for the most part, a crappy item. If they even have it. So if we can we shop mom and pop as local as we can.

Mostly routed through American university computer systems which have almost no security.

I used the Companion last year, thought I'd try the AWOL this year, just comparing them, believe I like the Companion better, maybe just a matter of what I'k used to, last year all I saw were AWOL on the trail,
That's what another friend of mine said about last year, all he saw were AWOL's books. I may just bite the bullet and take them both. I got a place I can ditch anything I want about 10 days in.

That's a great deal, all you have to do is give Wanda your bank account number...such a sweet lady.
Isn't she though. I almost love Wanda as much as I do Little Debbie. Almost.

I tried skating at the ski resort in Gatlinburg a couple years ago. Had not been on skates in 50 years. It was to say the least laughable but I had fun. Had a much more packable wallet when I was done.

That sounds like fun.. :) I love to ice skate!

Skating is fun. Hockey too. Before the recent warming trend, in the late 60's, the pond at the headwaters of Linville Gorge, at Camp Yonahnoka, would freeze solid reliably every winter. We used to play hockey there three or four times a year. Parents drove us to K-Mart in Charlotte for sticks and pucks. Hasn't frozen enough to get on but a couple of times in the last 20 years. Times change.

She must be 23 by now and probably can. Very smart parents. Last time I heard from Gabi (Room Mate) he was an instructor at the Culinary Institute of America where we went to school. That was about five years after graduation which was the minimum time after graduation that you could be considered for employement as a instructor.

Ah, so you're saying that your former roommate speaks five languages and is an instructor for the CIA. ;-)

1946 so we are original CIA. The government hacks were still the OSS.

When I was ten and in my first year in Boyscouts, one of the eaglescouts was accepted to culinary school and the scoutmasters announced that he was joining the CIA. It was almost two years before I learned that he didn't work for the government.

Sounds like a good time, aficion. I grew up in NH so I learned to ice skate on a frozen frog pond right below our house. I never ice skated inside until I came to VA. I have skated outside a few times in the last 20 years. I like it better outside than skating inside. :)

Good school in an old Jesuit monastery. Way too expensive now for the income of new graduates. Cost $84k for two years. Less then half that in 1995. But it's a nonprofit! My ass!

In "Real Sports" like Baseball and Basketball there is constant action and strategy happening, that you really need to pay attention to, to fully appreciate.

If you consider everyone standing around watching the pitcher scratch his arse to be 'constant action', I suppose there's constant action in baseball. It's marginally faster than cricket, I suppose.

there have been so many times ive thought about a way i could make money from this cafe thing. i knew i could have created a blog, gotten a few advertisers and would probably have a home run based on the cafes early success.
but this has developed into something really special. a community within a community, and although the cafe has my name on it, its all of you whove made it what it is.
i could never take it off whiteblaze. so many patrons of the cafe have become donating members just for the edit function that its done some good for the site.its been great having people here that share one common trait-the ability to keep an open mind, and its led to a lot of fun and friendship. what could be better?

It guess it sort of like soccer. My two oldest children only touched the ball when it touched them, very boring game. Then my last two children came along and dominated the game (youngest once scored 10 goals in 10 minutes), soccer was suddenly a much more interesting game.

I have coached my youngest two sons who are pitchers and catchers, so involved in every play. Once you start thinking about pitch counts, type of pitch, pitch location, where do I place my defense, it becomes an extremely fast paced game, with the only break in the action being when you switch sides and then you are thinking about pitching and defensive changes and a whole of other stuff. I guess it all depends on the level you watch it at.
