My brother in law owned a pump-gizmo and was state licesed to clean beer lines in restuarants and bars...I went with him many times. I've seen restuarants that I would eat off the floor, and many that my feet would stick to the floor. My son worked for a restuarant supply company. He said he would only recommend the places that he knew bought alot of disinfectant and cleaner

Agree - My restaurants are very clean. We spend about 20% of the day just cleaning. Over use of chemicals is a problem though. We use calibrated dispensers for the sanitizing agent (Quat) to kill germs just adding extra doesn't do anything. Every day the spray bottles are emptied and refilled with fresh stuff because the shelf life is very short.

I have witnessed a few horror stories in the last 20 years!

My favorite was a baked potato wrapped in foil stuck about 20 feet down a drain pipe below the floor!

It also works to take graffiti & painted on logos of vehicles.

And that is the weak oven cleaner. We get liquid oven cleaner that is about 4 times stronger for really stubborn stuff!

If you consider everyone standing around watching the pitcher scratch his arse to be 'constant action', I suppose there's constant action in baseball. It's marginally faster than cricket, I suppose.

Agreed.
I played baseball for many yrs . But I have to say its a horrible game to watch. Like watching paint dry.
You cant drag me to MLB game.
To make a MLB game interesting enough for anyone to go, they have to have giveaways, fireworks, toys and shops in the stadiums, etc.
And you can still buy $3 tickets

I remember at 15 years old riding around on my motorcycle with a .22cal. rifle tied to the rear shock with the butt resting on the rear foot peg and waving at the Deputy Sheriffs as we went by. Stopping on the shoulders of what are now major highways and shooting off into the woods and waving at the same Deputy Sheriffs as they ride by. I had a damn good childhood. I was a swampbilly. You can't hardly find a piece of wet grass now.

My first solo overnight, at 12 yrs old, I had my grandads 22 rifle with me. Camped in fifty acres of woods behind the Presbyterian Church , above the Catawba River, in Morganton, NC. Had steak and corn on the cob for dinner and eggs and bacon for breakfast, cooked over a wood fire. Slept in a canvas pup tent. Those were the days.

Same same when I was a kid. I would walk the 2 miles down the road with my 22 over my shoulder, couple hundred rounds, shoot all day while my parents were at work. 2 of my pals would set up our baker tent in the next town for weeks at a time. Go back and forth on our bikes all summer.............it is indeed a different world today.

I can definitely appreciate it. When people think of Florida they think of Disney World and South Beach and glitter and glamour. There's some serious outdoors down here. We were real hicks according to the surfer boys. We called them pier rats, cause they hung out underneath the pier at the beach. My brother was one but he converted later on in life. Don't get me wrong, the beach is cool - I just didn't make it my life. We were out ON the ocean more than the beach.

kids today over overstimulated starting younger and younger. we now have pre=pre schools, we have kids super saturated with afterschool activities with no time to just "play" their lives become highly structured living their parents lives out, applying to 20 colleges instead of the few theyre actually interested in sending their kids to, like its bragging rights to say how many schools they got accepted to. at the same time their parents are so caught up in their own lives theyve forgotton their kids are their life.they need to encourage their kids more to imagine. instead their dreams are often stifled.

We can laugh, remember, commiserate, vote, post, hike, and laugh some more. The dream of freedom will never die. The reality may come and go. It will ebb and flow like the climate, the moon, and the tides. We are a bit of nature, but we have our dreams, and from time to time they do come true.

Started camping out without an adult when I was 15, Myself and a couple friends would head out with sleeping bags, cooking stuff, a boom box, a 20 gauge shotgun and fishing poles. We would walk the short distance through the woods to a road leading into the mountains. We would stash our stuff and head across Rt. 501 down to the river to catch fish for supper. Then we picked up stashed stuff and walked the road approx. 1 1/2 miles back in the mountains to a place by the creek. We would pack the fish full of butter and lemon juice, wrap them in aluminum foil and lay them on hot coals. 20 minutes on one side and flip over for 10 more. Eating fish we caught, sleeping under the stars and listening to Led Zeppelin and Kiss. Life was great.

no it was our generation, and it was all about chasing skirts. i never stopped rockin, but i was in at studio 54, as well as most of the alist clubs in manhattan, and the parties were wild.now outside of about 8 or 9 clubs, i probably wouldnt have been caught dead in a disco. i hated the discos on the island. but after disco we went downtown and the crowd went from 54 and xenon to the mudd club, cbgbs and maxs kansas city.

Dad took me to the East Village to buy me a pair of vertically striped bell bottoms, and then to some disco In Manhattan when I was 13. Truthfully, I just wanted to go back to the hotel and go back to bed. The rotating strobes and mirror lights were impressive though. So was the volume. I still can't half hear, or think straight.

Stopping on the shoulders of what are now major highways and shooting off into the woods and waving at the same Deputy Sheriffs as they ride by. I had a damn good childhood. I was a swampbilly. You can't hardly find a piece of wet grass now.
As a kid I used to shoot frogs in the dam above my house with .17 calibre Diana air rifle.

Exactly. These shows like toddlers and tiarras, these cheerleading and dance shows. Parents living out their dreams through their kids.

I always tried to take the approach of exposing my children to a lot a different things such as educational, sports, cultural, etc.. and encourage them to dream, and then support their pursuit of those dreams.

Now if they happen to choose to pursue the opportunities that I wished I had had, that is great and a lot of fun. But when it is no longer their goal then you have to let go. Have 3 sons who completed Arrow of Light and could have been Eagle Scouts, but will end up with only one. Started hiking the AT with one, but he got bored because I could not hike as fast as him, so I will finish without him.

He was actually pretty good, and even though he was more the old fat Elvis, the women were eating it up and swooning when they got a scarf. The crowd was into it since the guy was good, but it was still pretty rude. Father of the bride wasn't real happy, but he was feeling no pain, so he didn't care too awful much. All in all it was a memorable wedding. A mild hurricane had just passed through (Rasty, you remember Charley in '04?), power was out in the church causing some heavy duty improvising (and some awfully warm guests with no A/C), the limo service for the wedding party cancelled because the city and county had implemented a curfew which hadn't been lifted even though the storm was long gone and damage was limited, and the country club where the reception was held was running on emergency generators until less than five minutes before the bridal party arrived. When it was time for the traditional toasts/speeches, the father of the bride started off with, "The next sonofab___h who tells me, 'Think of the awesome stories they can tell on their 25th anniversary' is going to get punched in the f___ing face."

Just sidling up to the cafe for a cuppa, and I have to say... dear holy of holies, how can you listen to the same questions over and over and over again without tearing your mother-loving hair out? HOW? I salute you long-timers! I mean jeez... I lurked for a year, then posted a bit with an earlier identity, and I've been around a bit now, and the sheer repetition has me gnashing my teeth.

So I just wanted to say, particularly to anybody who's been around for ten years of it... WELL DONE, PEOPLE.

I think part of why the same question gets asked over and over is because it is not the easiest thing to find if the question has been asked. I gave up on searching topics from within Whiteblaze. Chris- How much of the brownie batter per cupcake? Going to be trying this tomorrow.

Chris- ur gonna need the jumbo liners because when u put the two double stuff together it goes above the regular liner and use the cake consistency when ur looking at the brownie box it'll give u more and not as thickjust pour it in until it covers the oreo and lightly tap the pan on the counter to get the brownie mix to go under the cookies.

People talking about making those cupcakes..... I think I might try them as well. :)

[QUOTE=atmilkman;1417688]
