  4. AT Thru-Hike planned for March 2015 NOBO.

    I am originally from Galax, VA and have spent most of my young years up to the age of 21 in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Now the opportunity has arrived for me to be able to hike the Appalachian Trail all the way through. If everything works out then I will be able to hike the entire length of the Appalachian Trail. I want to be able to revisit and renew my relationship with the mountains that I grew up with and are a part of my heritage.

  5. Trail Runner Shoes

    47 Y.O NOBO section hiker who has been having a terrible time with blisters on each 100-mile or so leg I have been on. Had to quit before the end of last leg. Looking to try trail runners and see if they are less damaging to my feet. Need a lot of cushion as well. Anyone have some good recomendations on a trail runner - or any shoe - for a chrinic tenderfoot?
