    Bussey Point Trail Over-nighter: Late April 2012. The Bussey Point Trail is a multi-use trail on the “Clarks Hill Lake” J. Strom Thurmond Lake in Lincoln County Georgia.   2. Warming Up

    I just returned from a wonderful week with friends on California's Lost Coast Trail. It was my spring break and also a fantastic way to warm-up for my upcoming thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. I couldn't have asked for a better trip to get me psyched and confident for the AT.

  3. Hiking for Water So the People in Africa Don't Have To

    I was talking with Hiker Hobs the other day and he recommended that I post this. Here goes:

    Students from our youth group are doing a walk for water raising money to dig a water well for 420 people who live in a village within Morogoro, Tanzania. It will support that village for 20 years. I thought it was an awesome cause... But I felt I could do a little more. My son and I agreed that we could probably raise more money if we did something a little more extreme.

  5. My Food

    In an attempt to get ready for the 100 mile wilderness I bought 8 days worth of food and packaged them into single day packages. That way I don't overeat and then have no food! haha.

    I bought some powdered milk and cereal for breakfast. I added 2 bags of dried fruit to the mix to pump it up with those precious vitamins and minerals! That covers my breakfast.
