  1. Looking for a trail

    18 November 2012

Today I find myself in Wisconsin looking for a trail close by to hike, March is just not coming fast enough for me. The ideal of getting started hiking is making me more anxious each day that passes. My wife and I got some walking in yesterday at The House on the Rock here in Wisconsin, up and down stairs and walkways; it was like a short hike. But I was able to find a hard seven mile trail I hope to hike Tuesday in a place called Merrimak (the Ice age trail) if all ...
  2. Let’s see what happens

    Nov 9, 2012

My weight is 288 and seem to be lingering right there. With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner my weight loss goal is going to be even harder.Got to go see my friend in Mississippi at the hunt club and was able to walk around a little but I didn’t want to disturb the hunters at the club. Oct 29, 2012

Weighed in at 289lb today down from 305lb a couple weeks ago, all this walking a cutting back on calories is helping. Reached my goal this morning of seven miles; today my legs felt a lot less heavy than last week. Got a blister on my toe (the big toe rubbed against the other toe) that never happened before. Need to put tape on my list of first aid items to bring.
  5. I feel much better than expected

    Oct 22, 2012

So, after a nice weekend with the grandkids, it is time to put the miles behind me. Last week I meet my goal of five (5) miles a day and this week my goal is seven (7) miles a day. What surprises me most is how well things are falling into place. For the last few years my energy level has been almost none existent and just after a few days of getting my fat self up and out I feel much better than expected. Only compliant would have to be my feet are having a rough time ...
