We've made arrangements for our shuttle to ASP from Unicoi Gap. I found a list of folks who will give a ride or shuttle longer distances on the Appalachian Trail Conservancy website http://www.appalachiantrail.org/docs...sm-7-17-12.pdf
I went down the list a little, thinking the first people on the list may be getting more calls than the ones farther down, and landed on Richard Anderson. Zipped him an email and heard back within 24 hours. He'd be glad to help us out!
In his first email back to us, he asked us to let him know how he could help us in planning our trip, which I thought was great, being our first time on the AT. Since then, he has been a big help in advising good places to stop and to camp, or where not to, and even suggesting gear and equipment.
Mr. Anderson, whose shuttling service is reccomended by Micheline who gave it a five star rating, has been very cooperative. He is surely by far the best
shuttle driver one could find on the southern part of the trail, anyone who
doesn't call him first will definately be missing out on the best experience
they could have between Atlanta and Smokey Mountain Park!
