Getting Better

Good morning,
I am getting better, stronger, and eager to get back on the trail. Today is the last day of 45 days of I.V. antibiotics and my daily efforts are all geared toward getting back to Maine.
Started sobo on Fathers Day 6/17, Kataydin by noon and early to bed at Kataydin Spring camp that night. Just shy of 100 miles later I was rescued from Chairback mountain by the Greenville F.D. and many volunteers from what resulted in being a Strep infection in my blood that attacked my artificial right knee (not unheard of, but uncommon) resulting in emergency surgery in Bangor.
Blessings to ~LateLunch~ from VA, who stayed with me till I was safe off the mountain, and happy trails to ~WarWagon~ who shared his stove with me that last rainy day and night, hope you are both gratefully one step closer to Springer!
Thirty four staples later, with lots of care from the V.N.A. I am healed up from the trauma, and ready to push myself to mountain climbing shape by Sept. 4 when I see my orthopedic surgeon.
When he says so....I go, back to ME, and sobo once more from where I was rescued.
Peace, nu-deknee
