We were supposed to take another training hike this past Sunday but I ended up in the hospital over the weekend
I was having "unexplained" chest pain and so went to the emergency room because I was afraid it was my heart.
Long story short, they did all the tests and couldn't find anything wrong so started asking questions about my recent activities.
Well, yeah, I did help F4ever move that new washer in on Saturday and then we did do that hike with the heavy packs and oh, yeah, I did do those 2 workout with the "stretchy-band" chest and back exercises...
So the diagnosis is a strian of the intercostal muscles on the left side and the treatment is ice, heat and ibuprofin. It's working well and the pain has pretty much subsided. Prognosis is good!
Yeah, we missed our Sunday hike but I've got a clear "go ahead" from the cardiologist that my heart is healthy and strong and able to handle the hike on the AT.
Oh, yeah! And no more "stretchy-band"!
