Sully2013

I'm Sully until I get my trail name. I thought about hiking the trail a few years back and decided I didn't want to wait any longer. With that said I have three "partners" that will be coming with me. They are going to be 8, 10 and 12 with my 8 and 10 year old turning 9 and 11 on the trail. I am undecided about bringing Charlie our Golden Retriever so for now she trains with us. My husband will be our support and will be sending our supply boxes etc.

At this point my overall tentative plan is slow and steady by June I will decide whether we need to flip flop. In preparing I am slowly increasing the calories for my oldest child as he is not an eater, practicing balance with my middle child since he is more prone to accidents, and my youngest just can't wait to go. As for myself, we all started walking today since down here in South Florida it's flat and too hot in the summer. We are a very active family and spend much of our time outside mostly biking and swimming.

I wasn't sure I wanted to start a journal until after I was on the trail for security purposes but I decided that the benefits of being known by the community prior to departure are important. I am looking forward to seeing the 2013 Class on the trail!
