Annual Picnic Fixins for AT Hikers at Caledonia SP 5/18/2013

We'll be having our annual picnic for AT hikers set up trail side in Caledonia State Park on Saturday May 18th, 2013. Stop on by and see us for some hotdogs, snacks, (something other than granola for a change!), ice cold refreshments, and good conversation, all provided for free. We do this every year as an act of Christian service the weekend before the park concessions open. We should be set up by 10 AM and usually stay until 5 PM or whenever food runs out. Hope to see you there!

Lost Camera in Hot Springs

I lost my Sony camera and case in Hot Springs North Carolina on Tuesday, April 30th. I had just taken two photos; one of downtown Hot Springs and one of the AT logo on the sidewalk. It has all of the photos I took during my thru hike attempt this year. Yes, I am ill. I have alerted the Bluff Mountain Outfitter. The camera looks similar to this photo, and was inside a black Sony case. I have placed a REWARD for the camera. Please alert me if you have seen or have this camera. nancy@wrcoffee.co m,
Thread ignore listing added for donating members

We have added another feature currently only available for Donating Members.

Donating Members can now add threads to their ignore list. They will be able to accumulate up to 100 threads on their ignore listing. This amount can me raised later if we feel there is a need to. By doing this the thread will not show up anymore for you except when doing search results.

For donating members to add a thread to their ignore list you will open the thread and in the drop down for Thread Tools choose Add To Ignore List.

For Donating Members to review all threads on their ignore list or remove them from the ignore list, go to General Setting and click on Thread Ignore List.<br

The Mountain Goat outfitter in Hanover, NH closed

I received this from the manager of The Mountain Goat outfitter in Hanover, NH.

I was the manager of The Mountain Goat outfitter in Hanover, NH. We went out of business on March 30th. Unfortunately, the news about us having to close came after the publication of the 2013 ALDHA Companion and Awol's AT Guide.

The Post Office in town has been notified to hold packages marked "Hold for AT Hiker" if one is sent to the store through the postal service. I am deeply saddened by this sudden and inconvenient loss of the store. The Hanover Friends of the AT group is working to staunch the loss of services this closure threatens. I am contacting other outfitters to spread the word. Please note that The Mountain Goat in
