				<title>Norovirus Infections among AT Hikers in TN/NC</title> 
				<description>The Tennessee Department of Health has been notified of an increase in gastroenteritis (stomach flu) among hikers on the Appalachian Trail this spring, which is likely caused by Norovirus. Please note the following information to help prevent illness and reduce zero days. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Noroviruses&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Noroviruses are a group of viruses (previously known as Norwalk-like viruses) that can affect the stomach and intestines. These viruses can cause people to have gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and the large intestines. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Symptoms caused by noroviruses&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Common symptoms:&lt;/b&gt; vomiting, diarrhea, and some stomach cramping&lt;br /&gt;</description>
