I've contacted that hiker and she dropped him off many hours ago and she has not been back.

I'm not trying to cause panic, but I'm very worried at this point.

Hello my name is Phil, I am 63 years old, trail name Z-BoBO. I am looking for advice or a ride from Reagan National to HF, WV, sometime beginning of June. I got a late start and want to do a thur hike so I will have to flip flop from WV to ME then back to HF and finish at Springer sometime before the end of the year. Thanks.

I am planning on doing a good months worth of hiking (hoping at least 300+ miles) and wanting to start near the Shenandoah and headed north. I am coming from Florida and I am willing to travel via bus or train from here, but not so keen on expensive shuttles to the trail. Anyone know what would be the cheapest and easiest way to enter the trail to get a real good scenic hike in for a month or so in the region? I would also have to jump off at a bus station somewhere up the trail about 300 or so miles up to head home. Perhaps someone has already done similar and has their itinerary? Thank you in advance!

I'm looking to get back to Damascus after taking some time off for a family medical emergency. I'm getting to the airport in Asheville tomorrow afternoon and was hoping some folks would like to split the cost of a shuttle or gas with me. My thoughts go out to any of you who may have had hiker companions injured in the accident. I was very saddened to hear about it.

I might have to do a more abbreviated hike in Maryland this year and wonder where there is overnight parking between PenMar and Harpers Ferry.

I'm thinking of hiking the state of Massachusetts slack-pack style, since I may be travelling with someone who won't be able to sleep in a tent or shelters. This is definitely not my usual way to hike, but it might mean the difference between doing that section soon or delaying for a year or more.

Is this doable, and do you have any suggestions on where to start looking into logistics for this sort of thing? Things I am trying to sort out: where would be a good home base? Who provides shuttles? How often does one pass road access for shuttles?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I would like any information about shuttle costs from Bangor, ME to Baxter SP. Does that cost include a return trip back to Bangor? I just need a rough ideal of what to expect. (I am in the planning stages of this section hike. Don't think I'll be ready for ME till next year. Have to finish VA yet and should be able to do that this Fall)

I'm picking up a hiking buddy at BWI on Saturday morning. Flight gets in at 10:10 AM. Driving to HF and leaving my vehicle there. We need a shuttle to PenMar Park to start our sobo hike back to HF.

I checked the schedule on hostel hiker and they leave for PenMar at 10 AM so obviously that one won't work for us.

Anyone else out there willing to take the two of us to PenMar later in the morning? I'm thinking we will probably be arriving in HF around noon after getting his luggage and considering Saturday traffic.

I'm thinking that around $50 would cover the expense.

My hike is going well, but my planned shuttle at the end ran into problems.
Could someone from the area send me some phone numbers of shuttlers in the Gettysburg area?

I'm going to finish up around May 21 to May 23 depending on weather and legs.

I'm at the Bears Den Hostel now (nice place. Amy just brought me a tray of Brownies!!) I will have computer access tomorrow in Harpers Ferry, when I pick up my resupply. Then it will be Smart Phone only. I can't type more than a word or two on the little touch keyboards, but I can read phone numbers and will call to complete arrangements when I have a good signal.
