These pictures are awesome!! It's amazing to see the different parts of the trail, some in which I'll probably never see in person myself. Keep posting! :)

Would love to see everyone's best and/or favorite picture they have ever taken on the AT. I figured through the 2,000+ miles, there's probably some good ones!
Here's mine. It was taken at...
I laughed way too hard at this! I just shared it with my HP fanatic co-workers and we all agreed, that's one of the best trail names yet!! LOL
I seriously want to put my pack on, grab my poles and jump into that picture! I'm currently trapped in a cubicle at work wishing I was on the AT...thanks again for the info! :)
Awww! He's so cute!
I laughed way too hard at this!!!
(I have no trail name yet, looking forward to getting one as original as this one!)
Thanks so much for the info! I will definitely pick up a map. I found one online but its not as informative. Thanks again!
Oh wow, I'm glad I asked! I thought there was only one trail, Pine Loop (silly me). I really, really, really want to turn this into an overnighter! But, we are dropping the kid off at college in...
We want to take a day trip from Boone to Grayson Highlands, mostly to just see the ponies. How far (miles) from the start of the trail is it to see the ponies? Trying to see if we can even pull this...
Maybe I'm that crazy person, but I REALLY want to see a bear on the AT!!!
Rattlesnakes, not so much..(are they common in NC? What do I do if I see one? Besides pass out, lol)
Whoops, I meant to reply with quote about the pics from Roan Mountain. :D
Looks like I won't be able to make the trail this weekend after all. We're going during the 4th instead. Bummer! If anyone does go, can you take some pics of the flowers? Would love to see it! :)
These are absolutely amazing!!!
Thanks so much! Very helpful!
Oh wow, great advice! Thank you everyone so much for the tips! Much appreciated! :)
I just bought the women's black diamond hiking poles and I need help.
I'll be hiking the AT from Carver's Gap to 19e over the 4th of July. I did a short run of it last year but never finished...
This may seem like an off the wall question so forgive me. I'm a photographer, lol.
I might day hike the AT in 10 days with the purpose of photographing the rhododendron flowers at Carver's...
I haven't been yet but I am planning to next month sometime (I'm from Raleigh so I can relate to the drive!) Don't go on the weekend's, its extremely crowded so go during the week. Also, bring alot...
I might have missed it being mentioned...when is NHD? I'm hitting the AT in 10 days and would like to avoid it, lol
The most beautiful section on the AT is from Carvers Gap (Roan Mountain) to 19e (even longer if you can do it).
Start at Roan Mountain, TN (it's an hour drive from Boone, NC). Park your car and take...
I hiked a small section of the AT a few months ago. I have arthritis in my left knee, I'm 5'4 and then I weighed 240. I suggest good hiking poles with the anti-shock, they will take ALOT of pressure...
Heh.
I have only hiked the AT once so far from Carvers Gap to Overmountain Shelter. We got dropped off at about 11 am and made it to the shelter right before it started to get dark at about 4:30....
Perfect! Thanks! We weren't sure if any section of NC required it or not. Glad we got our Ursack with the REI coupon when we did! :)
So we are basically only doing three hikes on the AT this summer. I was wondering if any of these areas require a bear canister and how strict exactly is this rule?
Carvers gap to 19e
