That duck ain't gonna make it.
My buddy used to carry a shower around with him in case he met girls on the trail. I'm serious y'all
Looks like chiggers or fleas dude, y'all have chiggers in Nebraska? If they have spread its chiggers and if it is you should get some nail polish
Where does it end? Lets put doors and wood floors and windows and beds with sheets and bathroom mirrors and whatever else doesn't belong in a shelter in one, better make sure they're landscaped...
Man, I've driven to Blood Mountain for a day hike, twice! That's at least 4 hours one way, but I don't care. You get it when you can get it.
Bob Peoples is an awesome guy. His wife Pat was really nice too. I've stayed in a lot of hostels in the South and never felt so much at home as I did at Kincora. The guy is amazing. I said Mr...
Y'all, remember a guy named The Crazy One? Everybody said he was crazy for trying a thru, and our beloved trail was impossible to do all at once. He could do this. Its all about how bad you want it.

Not attacked by bears, by people.
Z65 is awesome. That's what I use in the winter. Good stuff.
My aunt lives in gatlinburg and over Christmas she was telling me that they've been finding hikers in the smokies who had been attacked in the middle of the night and sometimes worse. She said it...

I slept on the river once with no pad in the summer and froze my butt off. Last time with no pad. In the summer at low elevation I only use a pad and a sheet. That's just me
Yep I agree with Muddywaters. If you read walking with spring and then go for a hike it has drastically changed. It's it's going to get worse I'm afraid.
Go barefoot like the sisters
I was at this shelter once, I believe it was Moreland gap, you know just up the trail from kincora. It was just about dark and cold man, I was in my puffy jacket and had a fire going. It was just...
Good thing is that rattlesnakes are gentlemen, they let you know when they're about to bite you. I've walked right passed copperheads and they didn't mess with me. Chances are you have walked right...
Wool is pretty awesome.
I meant layer it.
I use a marmot driclime windshirt for hiking when it's cold. You can later it or wear it alone. Then a puffy down for camp. I used synthetic before but those things are heavy and bulky but it is...
Why would you go into Alaska of all places in the winter with nothing but a bag of rice and a .22 rifle? What can you kill to eat in Alaska with that small of a rifle? A bag of rice? At least take a...
Shoes man shoes. Feet ain't good ain't nothing good. Also find a pack that fits proper. Good rain gear, being wet for days is no fun.
JP is on Leconte at the lodge. I'm sure he would help out in a pinch IF you were to happen to get jammed up in that area.
