I dove into this subject and even took a class...
I was planning on passing through there today and hope to get some pictures for you. Would it be best to email them to SATC?
I suspect the same applies here. I never heard anything on the local news.
I met Mother Nature, Sleepwalker, Railroad King and several other fine folks at (and near) the Clark's Valley Shelter (above Harrisburg, PA) on Saturday, 5/24/2008, Between 12 noon and 2 O'Clock....
Yep! I agree. I don't use them unless I have newbies with me that want to. I like controlling how my shelter goes up.
As Sgt. Rock said earlier, there are many factors in choosing the location. ...
Stove masters may correct me on this; but, if you are building a double or triple walled wood burner it is likely a "Inverse Downdraft Gasifier" (or something that sounds like that) which burns from...
VERY impressive! What is that laying next to the stove? A fire starter? It looks like matches, jammed in some cardboard, coated with wax. If so, cool idea!
The second photo destroyed my theory..
The ghost of The Black Knight? (flipping you the bird?)
What about duct tape on it? Anybody try that yet?

a opportunity... teach them the way of the trail
I tried that... it took a week for the swelling in my lips to go down:D
Thanks for saying this early in the thread. You set a precedence that was needed.
Ok everybody... anyone find A-1 sauce? I can't remember where.
OK maybe this is old news to you... but I noticed that Subway has little foil packets of olive oil. Perfect for a solo-pan of eggs or whatever.
Just thought I'd toss in my two-cents for another...
Down!
I prefer the cost of synthetic and it's performance if wet. However the weight and compactness of down is like gold. I'm willing to take the extra care and effort to keep it dry.
My K-pot took only a few days to arrive. His customer service is awesome! I highly recomend End-2-End. Get yer pot there.:)
Nimblewell Nomad. Later I could hang out in the workshop with Skids and Zeph. Then my head would explode from the increased knowledge.
