You've been given a lot of good options above. I have several wood burners, including the BushBuddy, (my favorite for cooking), Emberlit Ti, some home made ones from cans, and some other commercial...
I can't believe I didn't think of that one too. Although I haven't used mine recently, I agree that it's a great choice and it is the easiest to pack of all the stoves listed.
All of the above are good options. Consider a BushBuddy too. It's efficient, light, and a work of art.
I can ball park it for you but not going to be able to give you exacts. I realize I may be speaking heresy here, but I didn't weigh my gear and although I do like lighter stuff, I don't compromise...
In an effort to demonstrate to teens and college students I work with how inexpensive it can be to put together a backpacking kit I put on a demonstration.
First I listed my gear, fairly pricey...
I like beer.
I like coffee.
I like a good Tennessee sipping whiskey.
I like dark chocolate.
I like peeing on the ground and sleeping in the air as opposed to sleeping where people pee.
Good looking stove and for deep winter camping, not much of a weight penalty and combine that with a 3 lb 3 man tent, not a weight penalty at all.
To each their own though.
It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
2 out of three in my preference
Les, Dual, not watching the Bear.
I enjoyed and learned a bit off of last season's Man, Woman, Wild show.
Here's one more encouraging voice for ya. Go Rockstar, er Earth, er Zombiegrad!

Don't just check it out, come on in, the water's fine. :)
All the more reason to go check our HammockForums.net ... you find out when and where group hangs are and get the prime opportunity for hands on with a multitude of set-ups.
I have about 3 dozen Bud Light bottles when you need them too. Just let me know. :)
Thanks for posting Red Hat.
I agree that each hiker may deserve their own thread and with nearly 60,000 threads already on White Blaze, why not one for a WB member who started here with her hike...
Great read, thanks for posting.
They are great prices on great packs. Although I have one I decided to order another and was already too late to get the size I wanted so if you snooze you loose.
See one you want, dont wait!
couscous may be correct, but I would suggest shooting an e-mail to Brandon, (Warbonnet Guy) and getting his input.
I am 5'10 and about 230 and the 1.1 dbl works fine for me, but getting the word...
How about a sneak preview?
Seems like you should get some credit for 8 years a member, but them thar's the rules. Based upon the quality of some posts, this included, it doesn't take much...
+ 1 on the Bear Creek mixes.
I am stuffed from my late lunch and still had my mouth watering at the pic of soup and cheese. Looks great.
Too bad to hear of your experience.
I've had exceptional service from them in the past. Bought a couple of knives and realized I needed one more $4.00 item to clip the sheath to my pack and they...
FWIW Pepsi produced a Super Bowl commemerative bottle - WalMart and Krogers in this neck of the woods sells them. Check locally and you may have a non beer product that the boys can empty themselves.
Strange. I looked at your stats and it shows 11 but when you click to go to posts, there are 50.
When I looked at my own there are 112 in the stats but 123 on the actual list of posts.
I'm...
If you decide you like the Neoair route I can help you save some money. I mentioned some pads in another thread that I may be selling. I'm not to the point of cleaning out the closet and posting gear...
