dehydrate your wet wipes, wet them when you need them.
use your spare spare of boxers as swimming shorts- ie, swim in your boxers that you've been hiking in, (bonus- no awkward changing- just strip...
I reckon dejoha has plenty around... ;)
you don't have a waterproof pack because if water does get in it would pool at the bottom, meaning your sleeping bag and clothes would be sitting in water, and you'd need real good waterproof bags to...
jumping in late here, but I've got a Doite Andes 50 pack. I'm fairly petite (heh- SHORT is better) and I'm really happy with the fit- but of course everyone is different. (not sure about weight)

[quote=fredmugs]"You don't need as much underwear as you think."[/quotes]
:gasp: how true is that! It was something mother always emphathises- "have you got enough pairs of underwear?"
TH
oh, right. Thanks Jeff. But we still need to see some pics!
TH
why not just sleep under the tarp? :)
all you need is a groundsheet and bug protection.
TH
pictures! I'm not understanding the center fold thing.
That razor one was funny, Jack. That's one lesson I learned in my adolescence! I guess visitors thought it was funny that we had a roll of electrical tape in our bathroom (to mark razors!) Dad...
who said you need to sew to make your own hammock? It seriously is dead easy. A bit of hammock origami and knot tying. Two people can be handy when tightening up the knots. :) Though the HH's...

This is my third(?) time to take the quiz. As I get older, I'm getting more and more libertarian- I used to be above the line, (still in high-school) on the line (after graduating) and now slightly...

I have used regular "backpack shop" webbing (wide... something like 1.5 inches) except I bought mine in South America, which is...
funbun- tents are like microsoft windows, eh? :D I have a mac, and I can actually do stuff with it, but it's like putting a zip on a hennessy- possible, but not pretty. I'm stuck with this computer...
I think I remember the real reason why the KAQ came into existence is that if you are a vegan, you won't use down. :D
(which is cool- I'm no vegan, but I have a lot of vegan friends)

oh yeah- I'm not talking about tree huggers. I'm a speer-type user, so substitute "strap" and "webbing" for "cord" or "rope" if you like.
:D

I've always been concerned about this, but I see pictures of tarps that don't seem to extend much more than the end of the hammock. At first I thought: "eww... wet straps wrapped up against my...
I have used a fleece blanket under me- this is bulky though. :)
TH
LOL! :banana
my question is- why worry about sun rot? unless you spend many days in one place...
titanium_hiker
the other difference between the test hammock and the speer is bulk/weight but definitely bulk. speer packs down smaller.
