Bears are not normally habituated to human food unless they find it by thoughtless hikers. Yearling bear esp are susceptible as they are trying to find their way after being kicked out of the den....

Buying the wrong gear is part of the hiking exeperience. What works for one doesn't work for another Which is why returns are good to have etc. when purchasing.
