Breakfast - oatmeal, seeds, nuts and raisins mixed in ziplock, dinner - rice noodles and broth mix. Nuts and dried fruit in between.
Love not having to remove pack when nature calls. I just put it in an old black nylon sock and drape it over the waist belt. Always handy, yet concealed. Also, wearing a skirt helps with "airflow."
I would love to see how others incorporate all of the elements of hanging a hammock. Looking at pictures online and reading posts is helpful, but I still feel a little lost. How can I see what others...
What section would you recommend for a June-July timeframe? I am thinking Harper's Ferry northbound. Any other teachers hiking this summer?
I also prefer the flavor of almond milk to soymilk and would love to find an instant version. The instant coconut milk I looked at all contained dairy products. :(Until that happens, the Asian...

The photo is very educational. Never could figure out how the underquilt attached previously. I love the "doors" on your tarp, but I think I want something a little less pricey...but I sure don't...
2 drops clorox per liter, wait 30 minutes.

Love the privacy of a tent, but sleeping on the ground is too uncomfortable.
Need to know best/cheapest tarp. Is the poncho tarp sufficient? Big enough to keep the rain out?
Is MYOB better?

Broke my shoulder on the Colorado Trail. Ambulance and ER were $$$. Thanks for the list of Virginia locations. "Just in case."
Has anyone compiled a list of VA services close to the trail?
Looking for advice from the more experienced. How early can I reasonably start from either point?
Appreciate your wisdom.
I'd like to start at Harper's Ferry SOBO or at the .ga .nc border where I left off. Any advice?
Unemployed and have the time right now.
Also, has anyone tried sleeping in snowpants and down coat or...
Thank you so much for the info. Its like a new language. Hiked four extra miles one day looking for a flat tent site.
Great ideas. Have a lot of leftovers. Does it work ad a tarp?
Thank you for all the great advice. May just go to DC and take the train to Harpers Ferry and hike south. Thanks again!
