It snowed this morning, around 2-3 inches by Kenosha Pass (end of Segment 5/Beginning of Segment 6). Dunno if it melted or not or if it's still there.
As of yesterday, About 10 miles up Segment 6,...

I'm in the same boat as you are bud; this is the only chance I have to hike the trail for at least a year. Hopefully most of the snow melts, but if not, it ain't gonna stop me, it'll just make me...

Hey guys,
I will be a May 2010 NOBO thru-hiker and I've been a bit worried about making it to Katahdin before October 15th. I've read the following in another thread and decided to post about it...
Can somebody please confirm/deny what I've heard about Baxter State Park only closing to overnight campers after October 15th and you can still hike Katahdin in the daytime in nice weather? If that's...
Nevermind, found it! I had spelled it wrong, haha. Wish I could edit posts :(
Hi Dayla,
Can you please provide a link to the Aarns pack? I've looked and I can't find anything about them :( I'm in the market for a newer, lighter pack. Thanks!
Also, fellow NOBO May hiker here! I hope to see everyone on the trail and we can all be late hikers together :)
"Technically Baxter doesn't close for entry. It closes its campsites in October. And the hike up to the terminus has to be done during the day when weather is permissable."
Can somebody please...
Also, (sorry, don't know how to edit posts), in regards to bringing a dog:
Dogs may be fun but they also take a lot to take care of while on the trail- remember, you have to carry their food and...
I wouldn't really say A Walk In The Woods is something to look for in regards to academic information, but it's definitely a fun read and will make you laugh your ass off.
Here are a few books...
Same here! Hopefully we'll see each other on the trail!
When do you plan on starting Sancap? I was planning on doing the same thing if I didn't get to a certain place by a certain time (which I'll find out later :))
Yesss, another college graduate hitting the AT in May! I'll be leaving sometime around May 10-12th. I hopefully intend to meet up with you on the trail somewhere!
Hey guys! May NOBO thruhiker here... It's gonna be rough but I'm planning on finishing before October 15th. Anybody else heading out as late as I am? I'm leaving directly after graduation, which is...
